A lot of rumors floating around that a deal is in the works. Would be a good hire for State IMO.

I hate that guy. I hope State doesn't hire him.

Well coming from a Georgia fan I'm sure you wouldn't think so.

No shite, probably because he fielded statistically the worst defense in school history.

That probably has something to do with it.

If your main focus is to get after the QB, sure.

But everything else? Good luck.

Hope this is true.

Would love to have Eason shred his pathetic defensive schemes Between the Hedges.

I am aware the hate UGA fans have for him. Was surprised at the defensive numbers he had at Louisville....yes I realize it's Louisville!

And you realize that he inherited a Louisville defense that was #1 in the nation under Charlie Strong the year before, right?

Nobody doubts Granthams knowledge of defenses or drawing up schemes. His biggest challenge at UGA was that his defensive playbook was too big and it doesn't allow guys to just go out and play. That is how 3rd and Grantham (or 3rd and frick it) was born. It never failed that when we backed a team up to 3rd and 10+ that they would not only convert but likely complete a 25+ yard completion because guys were out of position all over the place in the secondary.

Elmer Fudd would be better than we have but sooner or later, Mullen is going to have a hire someone that scheme against some good offenses that we go up against plus stay a while. We have had a new DC almost every year except for the 2 years that Manny was here (first visit) for 2 years. One of those was co-DC if I remember correctly.

You don't leave UGA for L'ville, nor L'ville for State. So ponder why this move might happen.

As Fats mentioned, he is a creative defensive mind but his scheme was too complex when we he was here.

In 3 of the 4 years he was here, we would have breakdowns in coverage, or substitution/alignment issues before the snap in just about every game. It was maddening.

The amount of times we saw defensive players going was too damn high.

The switch from Grantham to Pruitt is still something to fap over. The 2014 Clemson (2nd half) and Auburn games are pure defensive fap material. Players playing fast and confident.

Grantham weighed down pure talent with pure scheme.

Well they were ranked Top 5 one year, in the top 30 a couple and his worst was 45. If state had the 45 th ranked D last year, we'd have easily won 10 games. We will take the good over the bad.

We were ranked 110 in defense this year and have sacked the Qb less than 30 for like 6/7 last seasons. Anyone was a upgrade. As to why he's leaving, I've heard he hates working for Petrino which is no surprise.
