It was also the beginning of LSU's death spiral.

LSU fans didn't realize what was happening. They were celebrating an undefeated season, talk of best team ever, another SEC championship on Dec. 3rd. Little did they know what Dec. 4th would bring.

It's sad but true. Miles wasn't just losing to Bama though. It was Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, NOT Texas A&M

I remember exactly where I was when they announced Bama going to the BCS National Championship.

Pluckers. Eating wings, having a great time. Then I saw it. Little did I know, I'd still be melting 5 years later.

Liek dis if u cry everytim

The funniest part was some of the loser LSU fans that talked about ELO ratings non-stop, and assured everyone that BAMA couldn't get back into the title game.

I remember LSU fans thinking they were actually going to beat Bama in the rematch.

Not only that they would win, but they would win easily.

This wasn't a far-fetched attitude. Both of the teams had amazing talent and matched us very well. One coach just forgot to plan a little differently for the game.

Man you guys are sad. Do you really feel fulfilled and superior because you root for a different group of 18-22 year olds than we do?

Alabama can't take all the credit. We're the team who manipulates them into keeping subpar head coaches every year.

His entire life revolves around Bama football, so you probably are not far off.

here's the thing, none of them actually thought that (hence the lobbying for OSU and subsequent mentioning of tMulligan). That's a coping mechanism.

We all watched 9-6 and came away knowing that Alabama was a better football team

What I thought was so amazing, was how certain LSU fans had taken that very, very SLIM victory over Bama in November '11, and somehow deluded themselves into thinking they had flat out blown-out Bama, and that there was not a chance Bama could win even in a rematch. I didn't post at the time, but I was reading the message boards on here with a friend, and we were laughing hysterically at how deluded some of the posters were on here. And THAT was just the cherry on top of why 1/9/12 ended up being particularly satisfying, to be honest.

again, they knew we were better...they were trying to convince themselves that they stood a chance in a rematch. The human psyche can be a weird motherfricker
