Today is the 30th Anniversary of Van Tiffin's kick vs Auburn

This game was the classic "its a shame either team had to lose" because neither one did. In fact, had Auburn made their two pt conversion with :57 left, it would have been a 25-25 tie.

We were in the French Quarter getting ready to go to the LSU-Tulane game. This guy had a dinky little B&W tv with the Iron Bowl on ABC and on his larger tv behind the bar he had CBS' Notre Dame-Miami game with Miami up like 51-7. Guy was Mr. old timey ND with Notre Dame stuff everywhere. We going crazy "turn this stupid game over to Ala-Aub" and other niceties.
