Seriously, Coker may be our best QB, but the difference between him and Bateman would be closer than the difference between us having a serviceable kicker or not.
With our schedule, I can guarantee you we'll be in a position where our FG kicker will have a game in his hands at some point.

I'd rather keep Bateman and give you Coker. I don't think the difference between them is great enough to give up Bateman as a future QB.

Maybe right now. Maybe. When one is a RS Senior and one is a RS Freshman, I can see the RS Freshman beating him out, or at least getting loads of PT. Bateman definitely has the bigger upside.
