I'm not talking about carrying about wanting success, but do your fans demand it?

If you keep demanding success to happen you will eventually find your way back up to the elite level again. But if you just care and not demand it, then it can get ugly.

MN doesn't demand it and haven't since they became a pro sports community when they were winning national titles.

Alabama demands success and that is why they can have a losing decade and then follow it up with a natty title a decade later.

I know fans of my team demand success.

Teams that celebrate little wins are not demanding success.

This concept has worked well for your "fans".

Yeah if Jim Bob from Decatur just had a little more Vol in him I'm sure Butch would have gone for 2 up 12 in the Swamp.

This kind of blows a hole in your theory of eventually getting back to an elite level, doesn't it.

I think our fans want stability.

Nebraska didn't go through a 6 year period with 4 different coaches.

Now if at some point this season it becomes 100% obvious Butch Jones can't get the program turned around then the big money people will demand a change.

BUt for now I think most logical fans know letting him to continue at least through next year would be best for our program long term.

Who cares about the Riley hire. If it doesn't work the stupid AD gets fired for his incompetence. Fans demanded a strong hire and the AD failed. That is why he will be fired the first second when this dumb Riley thing fails.

So you just keep down the road of firing guys every few years. Seems like a great plan. Demanding success and all

Nebraska kept Pelini around for like 10 years of 9 win seasons. WTF are you talking about "fans of my team demand success". You're probably the same guy who shits on UGA for keeping Richt and maintaining mediocrity.

MN

I don't know why Minnesota and Colorado are compared to Tennessee. No one give a shite about Minnesota football including their fans. They have 50k stadium and use only like half of capacity

100k stadiums are more common nowadays but Tennessee and Michigan were only programs that packed 100k+ stadium since the 90's. College football is a way of life in Tennessee and that will never change.
