Yeldon better start running a little lower or he is going to get his block knocked off.

He runs plenty low. I can't remember him really ever taking a huge hit during his career at Alabama.

He was one of my favorite players to watch ever at Alabama. Watching this highlight video reminds me of just how much of a beast he is. I would hate to have to try and tackle that guy.

Solid pick, but I was surprised a Florida team took him over Duke.

Miami has no fans, especially not in Jacksonville.

A healthy Yeldon is a great running back.

Yeldon was a very good college rb, doubtful he will be much more than a role player in the league... He has problems staying healthy and just doesn't have the explosiveness needed for the NFL..

He will be a solid NFL RB.

Jacksonville didn't take him in the 2nd round to be a role player. They expect him to be their starting HB.

Yeldon is hard to evaluate because he had so many nagging injuries his last few years.

He clearly has the potential to be a great back and that's what why he was drafted so high.

His biggest downside to me is ball security. He always seemed to fumble at horrible times on a regular basis.

Virtually every single RB in the NFL is a role player at this point.

Outside of 3-4 teams, very few feature a RB heavily. The NFL is a pass first league and almost every team is built around the QB and passing game, and RB's are utility players.

There's only like 3-4 teams that are an exception to this.

The NFL rule book has basically rigged the game such that passing every single down is the smart choice.

Jacksonville is terrible. They'll conuinue to be terrible. it's just a bad place for Yeldon to end up...

I have some serious questions about Yeldon's speed even more than his ball security issues. Yeldon's game is based on elusiveness and agility yet he only ran a 4.61 at the combine. Also, I don't remember a single instance when Yeldon put on the burners and just outran defenders for a long touchdown. Yeldon has his strengths. His cutting ability is phenomenal and he has pretty good vision but I don't think he has the elite acceleration and burst needed to be a top running back in the NFL. If Yeldon ends up having a career like Mark Ingram, I would consider that a successful career for him.

40s are overrated for a RB.

I do agree with you on his history of ball security issues though. Roll Tide.

This is not possible, the committee never had TJ in top 4 or 5. CAP must have been drafted #1.

These other two rbs had to do more with less.

Yeah and they did it going up against stout d-lines, not that panty-waist crap you get from the SEC with the likes of Ole Miss.

Eddie Lacy is one of the best backs in the league, AND is a receiving threat, and he isn't exactly a burner.

Quicker feet, quick first step. 40 time isn't an indication of elusiveness or agility. He won't run away from secondaries often, though.

Jags have some interesting pieces on O, if the OL can be decent I think Yeldon will do ok. Not sure he can be a top 5 back in the league, but definitely a guy who could start and be solid for a long time. Unless he fumbles a lot or can't stay healthy.

Wait
So if one starts as a freshman and has two great years whilst setting career records. That person is not considered the best or at least among them?

If he would have stuck with his Auburn commitment he would have easily had the stats to have been taken in the 1st round. It's sad really
Is that why Corey Grant transferred from Bama to Auburn, to be a 1st rounder? Kind of sad that he was undrafted.

4.61 is not super fast, just decent. But this proves that elusiveness and quickness is much more important than straight-line speed IMO...

Maybe Marshall and Grant will help out.
