His knees really were that bad. What a shame.

It's a shame someone with his level of talent had his career end like this but I have a feeling Tennessee will take of our native son and VFL.

That sucks to hear. I hope he finds himself a solid job and live a comfortable life. A dude that big can't be riding in a Civic.

Had a speech class with him freshman year, really good guy and was always a campus favorite. Wish him the best.

Best of luck to the kid. He was a warrior for the Vols during an era that was very difficult for that program. Hope he finds success and happiness in life.

Couldn't have said it better.

This is a blessing in disguise for Tiny. Now he can live a long and happy life not having football part of it. He won't be completely broken down in his 40s. He will do great at whatever he pursues.

Not positive but I **think** the problem in Tiny's knees is a degenerative cartilage issue brought about by osteoarthritis (I'm basing that on what's been described plus the procedures he's had). It happens to some people early in life - arthritis in the knees can set in as early as HS though most don't know it and certain types damage the cartilage. They go in and shave it and then the arthritis just comes right back and cause more damage to the cartilage.
If you were an athlete you risk getting osteo early - doesn't have to be football. It can be any sport or even things like being an active kid.
Tiny will spare the rest of his body and be able to get the issue treated sooner rather than later and he won't grind his knees down past the point of no return so in many ways you're right that it is a blessing. He was risking a lot of damage and a ton of full knee replacements earlier in life than ortho's like to give them.
I'd like to see him come back and get his degree and then get hired on in some capacity.

I remember he was projected to go 1st or 2nd round after his first two years at UT. Injury really sucks. He went undrafted because of it and ultimately caused him to have such a short career. Best of luck to him.

Calm down son. You really shouldn't let a down vote on a message board get you that upset.
