Tim Brando's opinions on various things

Brando loves to share his opinion and spoke in Mobile last night.
Tim Brando would 'love to see' Nick Saban become college football commissioner one day
"How could the bylaws of the SEC not be in position to just make them play?," Brando said. "We knew where the storm cell was on Tuesday or Wednesday. The SEC office knew where it was on Tuesday or Wednesday. And yet there were no proactive moves made by anybody to make sure that the game was played on Sunday or Monday. Georgia and South Carolina figured it out, so why couldn't Alleva and Jeremy Foley figure it out? ... The commissioner needed to just say 'hey fellas, this is what we're doing.' We can't go a week without knowing when this is going to be played.
"Sankey is a good guy, but this situation was mishandled by everybody involved. I don't think it's necessarily an SEC issue. I think it's systemic with intercollegiate athletics. We need stability and uniformity. These guys are in business together. ... Integrity to the game is everything."
It also links to other topics, such as LSU being Bama's biggest threat, and another link to concerning Gus's job security. Slow news day, just stuff Brando said in Mobile last night.

Brando also mentioned the ongoing saga of the Big 12, which in the past year has flip-flopped on the idea of expansion. After interviewing 11 schools — including most of the American Athletic Conference — Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby and Board of Directors chairman David Boren said Monday that no future expansion was planned.
It also links to other topics, such as LSU being Bama's biggest threat, and another link to concerning Gus's job security. Slow news day, just stuff Brando said in Mobile last night.

he's always a good interview and has valid points. people on here rag on him because he said some shite about LSU that was the truth and they didnt want to hear it.
he also predicted after week 1 Miles would be fired if he lost to Auburn and O would take over.

People that like to get their opinion as much as he does, is going to step on some toes. I liked what he said about the LSU boosters(on Fbaum after the lsu firing) having too much power with the LSU atheletic department. It reminded me of Bama's pre Saban days, and although a lot of LSU fans didn't want to hear it, he said it anyway. He knew he would take crap for that, but it is a legitimate concern. I mean i don't know if it is true like it was at Bama, but it does need to be looked into as a possibility. I think LSU needs an ad that will stand up to boosters on football decisions.

If you can get past his ego he's a pretty good listen. Insightful and consistent with his opinions. However...I cringe every time, which is all the time, when he leads off a comment with "I said back in...",

What games does he call now? Mtn. West?

Had a typo in the title and nobody called me out on it. I think that's a first

Kind of reminds me a bit of the Dr Pepper guy."I was talking playoffs in the 70's" kind of thing. If this commissioner thing happens, he'll take credit for that as well. Never mind that it has been discussed for generations.

Agree and it's a significant concern. Coincidentally, booster involvement was an issue at LSU pre-Saban. He was able to change that and it appeared Miles was able to thwart that as well until recently. Boosters with money believe they know more about football than the AD and the coach. That and/or they want the power to influence decisions. I am terrified.

It is a very common problem. People who give money are going to want to have some say. The way things are being done makes me question if this is happening. I have no way of knowing what is going on there. I am just saying it might be. Now, a homerun hire will make me change my tune real fast about the LSU athletic department.
