Rich Brooks was one of the guess speakers today on the Brado show on XM ch.144 and Brooks thinks that John Parker wilson is the best QB in the SEC over Stafford and Tebow.
My question is if it your team who would you want at QB and why? just wondering?

This year under guru McElwain, nobody has looked more impressive than JPW.
Nobody in the SEC that is.
Nobody in the SEC that is.

he meant to say SJPW was the best QB in the SEC last weekend

JPW is playing over his head right now. See how he finishes up after having some games with a lot of QB pressure.

TrioOfLights, put the crack pipe down. He looked good against an average ACC team and against a very non-focused Georgia team. I will argue that Jarrett Lee's 2 SEC game performances were just as impressive

My thoughts also
what happens when the running game is shut down and he has to start making throws under pressure?when I think JPW I think of those throws that seem to sail because he is throwing of this back foot.

JPW is playing very well. In my opinion he wasn't as bad as many thought he was prior to the year starting. I remember 2 years ago in BR he was as accurate as a QB can be........Now this year he has looked very good, but I do want to see how accurate he is if he ever faces a lot of pressure and has to keep getting up off the ground. I'm pretty sure he will get hit fairly against LSU and Auburn.

Isn't Kentucky playing Bama this week?
Thought so

I'd take Stafford. If McElwain can coax decent play out of JPW, he could really do some damage with a QB that's competent!

I do not think JPW is the best QB in the SEC. Our new offense is built around our OL and RBs as well as short passes (with the occasional deep throw) to help JPW on his efficiency. He has done a great job so far managing the offense and not turning the ball over.

in the history of football:NCAA or NFL. JPW > Montana,Unitas or Marino.

Its hard to focus after you get curb-stomped right out of the gate....

The real question for Bama fans is this. If you could choose a QB to finish your season who would you pick? Wilson, Tebow or Stafford?
Posted on 10/2/08 at 4:01 pm to jesse
Tebow... Experience and talent.
Posted on 10/2/08 at 4:03 pm to TenTex
I guess if this were strictly reality based, I'd say Wilson, since anyone else would have to learn the offense in time for the next game.
But since this is fantasy based speculation, intended to reveal who we think is best, I vote Stafford.

I agree with Brooks. The only guy who could rival Wilson is Stafford/Tebow, and we all know they are not separating themselves from the pack. The rest of the SEC QBs are inexperienced or young, and sometimes both.
This is a down year for QBs in the SEC. Wilson has always been a good college QB, he just hasn't had alot of help.
