Now back to trolling

I really don't think much happens. They've already known about laremy and that's why he missed 7 games

I thought the 7 games was about an agent, though, not payments from a coach. Am I mistaken?

I have been thinking of the NCAA as the North Carolina Athletic Association for awhile but would not be surprised if they change to the Ole Miss Athletic Association. They're about as consistent and reliable as Congress.

On one hand, the NCAA has proven to be worthless over the years.

On the other hand, a player just admitted to getting paid by his school in front of reporters on one of the biggest media days in sports. Kind of hard to ignore that.

Laremy was suspended for 7 games for not being forthcoming to the NCAA. His Step Dad spilled the beans to the NCAA. He got a loaner car while his car was in the shop along the way. I am hoping that his Step Dad was the one who hacked his accounts and poster this stuff because he didn't get what he wanted from the NCAA after he showed his hand and all he had about Tunsil.

The bottom line is LT will come out tomorrow and say "I didn't understand the questions" and OM will tell the NCAA to prove it. Death penalty won't happen but it could look like USC a few years ago after the Bush stuff.

NCAA has been fighting the "amateur, student athlete vs. pay to play" war for too long to not have a heavy hand with such hard evidence

ETA: and evidence that came out in such a public way

Put me down as someone who thinks this will blow over and OM won't get as much as a slap on the wrist.

The dude was clearly overwhelmed and probably was thinking about the millions he just made, and the fact that a video of him ripping a bong surfaced minutes before his biggest hour was to arrive. shite, he was probably baked in the presser.

I disagree.

He admitted to the world that he took money to go to Ole Miss.

The NCAA deals with things pretty bad most of the time but if they let this slide, the fallout will be really bad. I can't see them just turning away.

All of this.

Interestingly, I think the distinction -- that he admits he took money while at OM, not to attend OM -- might help OM. While it was a coach rather than a booster, the NCAA has been more prone to talk about repayment and lighter punishments in those cases. In fact, wasn't there a Bama player who got hit with that one? It's almost a secondary violation in some ways.

Granted, the fact the LT is now gone and can't be personally complicates things a little and likely means OM will absorb the punishment that otherwise would have been applied to LT. But nothing like what they'd be hit with if Tunsil had admitted to taking money as a recruit to attend OM.

19, but I didn't vote one way or the other, partly because I don't really do up/downvoting, partly because I'm pretty sure Tunsil is telling the truth but less certain that actual evidence of he is admitting to is going to be easily verified, if it's verified at all. The hammer will swing, but I have my doubts about it putting the nail in very deep.

No, it was to go to Ole Miss. Not trying to be a jerk but it was to attend the school.

It wasn't while he was at Ole Miss. Which in itself would be bad too.

The latter is worse and that's what he admitted to doing. 425k was the figure I read.

Unless I was misinformed and that could be the case.

In any event, it sounds really bad. Doesn't matter if he's not at the school or not.

A good example is the Reggie Bush situation at USC.

Even the NCAA is not that stupid. His mother moved to Oxford for the free ride.
