I was thinking today. Would I without bias want Les gone if I was a LSU fan. I finally came to the conclusion that I would want him fired. He is an elite recruiter and an average coach. What I see from my Bama perspective is a coach unwilling to change. Who has wasted too much talent at LSU. Your guys in the pros read like a who's who. So many game changers not put in better positions to win these last few years. But why I want Les to stay is because he's a class act, just a class act, and doesn't deserve this indignity LSU has him in. Just wait till after the season and let him coach the bowl game. I understand maybe the window is closing on the administration to get their "guy" or for recruiting purposes but why did they have to put the knife in his back. I'll always be fond of Les Miles. He was funny quirky but he was always gracious in win or defeat and he made that town his family.

Generally we love les miles as a man, but it's time to go, it could have been handled better but this business is cut throat

The closer tomorrow gets, the more sad I feel myself getting about this whole damn thing. They better have Fisher in the bag or this going to blow up big time. Regardless of what happens... Tomorrow will be a sad day for SEC football :-(

Coaches reach their prime at about 60 and then have to be pushed aside or allowed to hang on to the program as a sign of respect while the program falters. LSU recognizes that it's jjust football. Alabama builds statues. going to be a lot of pressure on Alabama and Saban going forward. Can Alabama force out an old coach with a statue who can no longer best LSU?

exactly what did LSU do for you to think they put a knife in his back?

or you suggesting (hell, avering) that LSU snuck up on him and he doesn't know his job is in jeopardy?

look, the guy knows where he stands. he's no dummie. there is, or has been, a fight amongst the BOS that has been ongoing since last year. it appears the anti miles faction has won and there is money to make a change. miles chooses to act like he doesn't know anything about anything. no change here.

my only point is LSU ain't stabbing him, front or back. it's a business bud. just look at your schools treatment of mike shula.

Well said. As much as I have been ragging on LSU, i have always respected their program for playing tough physical football and Les Miles for being a tough opponent who is a real character and great ambassador for the SEC.

The truth is, i really just hate the way this is going down and hope he will stay in the SEC. He is one of the good ones.

Firing an average coach for no reason went pretty well for Bama 10 years ago

They are reporting as of 10 this month thing the deal was still being worked on but I think the silence from FSU is more telling than LSU going after him. The seem to be willing to let him walk.

The Board of Supervisors guy's interview a couple days before the Ole Miss game. 100% classless and unnecessary. If it's time to move on, you keep your mouth shut publicly, and make preparations for the offseason.

Once that happened and the "Miles is coaching for his job" talk flared up, LSU was caught. Either have a press conference affirming Miles is the coach and is safe (and end the speculation), or be exposed to what is happening now.

Les was good for the conference. He was quirky and quick witted. His teams always seemed to play hard and his players respected him. It's going to be weird to see anybody other than him on the LSU sideline.

I see what you mean about Shula but I'm not saying they shouldn't fire him, actually they should. But unlike Shula, Les Miles is College Football icon. You don't let an icon down like that. Wait till the season ends, let him know the shows over, have a press conference announce retirement, take a year off, missed coaching, go to work. Your preparing for the next game and you have tweets saying boosters have his buyout together. I understand business, but when someone gave your their all, with success, for so long you don't pile it on.

Yep it definitely will be interesting. LSU looks like it might have made a clean break from a coach who was starting to get a little long in the tooth. It will be really tough for bama because of how much Saban is loved. For crying out loud, he is almost as old as Hillary and bama thinks he will coach another 25 years. I feel sorry for Saban who must be exhausted and worried about keeping up with an LSU coach 15 years younger.

I was thinking on this today also.... We caught hell for both Curry and Shula. If it goes wrong it effects nobody but LSU. If everyone else don't like the way LSU runs their program it does not effect them one bit.

I visited Louisiana for the first time this year and really liked the people....hell they reminded me alot of us Bama folks. Hard working, football loving, prideful people. We have made some decsions that others pointed fingers at and told us how wrong we were too.... did we give a damn??? Nope...done what we thought was best.

Sometimes you have to ask....(are we going to stay here or go for the big one...)

Believe or not you just sumed up the feelings of 90% of the Tiger fan base. Problem is in order to get what the administration sees as the right hire and to maintain as many recruits as possible this had to be done now. First sensible tide post last 2 weeks
