Mea Culpa. I was wrong. You were right in your words and the way you responded.

They collapsed in the SEC Tourney as well losing to a terrible Tennessee team despite a double digit lead with 10 minutes left.

Stallings is a mediocre coach. The guy lives off a good season every 5 years more than Stansbury used to.

SEC isn't really post season though. I mean, I guess it is but they were already securely in the NIT at 9-9 in league play and 19-12 overall.

They went out to St. Mary's and won in the first round of NIT. That was a pretty good win for them, I thought.

I'll see about adding UT's football team to the equation after we upset them.

You know I love ya, bruh but that one ain't happening. I do expect it to be a low scoring dogfight. Vandy always plays us tough as nails.

Stallings has a losing record in SEC play in his career.

We have a better offense than UF's football team, so there's that.

Yeah but outside of baseball Vandy doesn't recruit well. He's done pretty good with what he has and looks to have a good team this year.

Stallings is 436-269 over his career.

Do you want to really go down the road of underachieving coaches...considering who you just hired?

Rick Barnes is no Coach K but he has been much much more successful than Kevin Stallings.

Yep and in a tougher basketball league (although this one has been getting a lot better and is probably in front right now though still behind prestige wise).

Much more successful at underachieving with top tier talent, yes.

I don't expect us to win, but I have nothing to lose by predicting it. Who's going to bother trolling us afterwards? I mean, obviously Arkansas would because they'll troll anyone since that's their main source of erections, but we don't play them this year. Living in perpetual sports-related despair has its advantages. Envy us.

Ok. In what area has Stallings been more successful than Barnes?

Texas doesn't support basketball the same way we do. Our attendance in a shitty year, with a roster we knew couldn't do much and a coach we knew was done was 13th nationally. Texas was 34th. Our facilities and support are better. That matters and will matter even more when Barnes has time to establish recruiting ties in this area.

Rick Barnes has like 23 NCAA T appearances.

Stallings has 6 in 16 years at Vandy with 2 sweet 16s and 4 first round busts as the higher seed.

I don't know. They'll deny it but you really did manage to piss off TAMU fans with the brisket remark and that was epic.

How come when we were in despair the trolling never stopped? It's that perpetual thing isn't it? In all seriousness, I want Vandy to do well just not against us.

Barnes may have more elite eights and FF under his belt, but he has also underachieved with more. Look at the players he's had and what he's done. Durant? Nothing to show for it. His last few years were just bad.

Stallings has never had top flight recruits like that. I'm critical of Stallings at times and think he really needs to break past the Sweet 16 wall or move on. But he takes average talent and makes them competitive consistently in conference play. Stallings is a good coach but if he doesn't start winning in the tournament soon he needs to go.
