We know a thing or two about rivalries. If Alabama/LSU was a rivalry, we would embrace it.

Kinda odd how obsessed Alabama fans are about jumping up and down saying its not a rivalry.

Not sure who is jumping around, looks like most are posting there opinion as it relates to the OP.

I personally would have no problem with LSU being a rival or any other team, but it's simply not the case. Rivals are great, having three good ones instead of two would be a good thing.

Because I know a pile of them with an inferiority complex, young and old.

When les miles addresssed the tiger faithful during the begginning of his tenure, he didn't say anything about beating fricking ole miss, or fricking auburn, or fricking arkansas...He said he was going to beat fricking alabama and the crowd cheered like they won the lottery. The alabama hate is strong amongst the lsu fanbase and nothing you say will convince me otherwise because I see it firsthand

Which is why the game means a lot more to LSU fans. I really don't care where Saban was at before he got to UA.

Of course no Bama fan would. But, if the rolls were reversed and Saban left Bama and went to Miami and then went to LSU, yeah well, it would be the same thing. If Saban would be at any other school in the SEC, it would be the same for the majority of Tiger fans.

That's because their coaches weren't out on the recruiting trail in early 2007 trashing Miles and LSU like Saban was.

But keep repeating the company line. Nick and Terry will be proud of you.

Like Jamarcus Russell? We'll see if Collins becomes the #1 overall pick in the darft like JR was. 5 Star DBs grow on trees in La anyway. JR was way more important to us than LC will be for yall, I can guarnantee you that.

gump is gumping

meh, we lost a game. we were the #1 team in the SEC though.

actually I was there sitting at a VIP table about 5 feet from the stage and I didn't flinch, neither did 2 or 3 other people at my table. So yea, I guess you being an alabama fan doesnt really qualify you to speak about why some LSU fans might hate another school or coach.

You beat mike shula and tommy tubberville for a kid as close to baton rouge as he is to tuscaloosa, and I may be mistaking but I'm pretty sure nick saban recruited russell to LSU.

As far as these DB trees, I recall Janzen Jackson and Landon collins, both of which left the state...who am I forgetting because that's only 2 branches

I dont want to be anyones rival..id rather LSU just beat the shite out of every one of you redneck frickers

But as of the last couple of years, the Overall hype for LSU-Bama is unmatched and really is representative of how much spirit, hype and hatred goes into a game pitting SEC powers.

You guys dont have to call it a rivalry, but every year, LSU and Bama know that the other team is the biggest game if they want to get to the big game or into the BCS

and you landed a kid who has divorced parents that live in seperate cities, and moved away from NOLA after katrina and was dead set on leaving Lousiana. Congrats on that monumental recruiting effort. Not to mention, his mom...

If the only 2 DBs that you can name from La that were big time players are Janzen and LC, I simply dont know what to tell you. It doesn't surprise me, however. Maybe you can go ask all your LSU buddies to rattle off a few for you.

Technically speaking, all SEC teams are each other's rivals.

I started following LSU football in the early 70s. I remember losing to Tulane in '73. That sucked balls, especially since I grew up next door to Tulane.

That said, the team I've always most wanted LSU to beat was Alabama.

You can look at "rival" different ways. Tualne was the team it hurt most to lose to, but Alabama has been the team it was best to beat (1997 aside).

But I prefer to look at "rival" as just some queer shite that fans like to bicker over.

Who have I always wanted LSU to beat? Alabama.

Who have I never wanted LSU to lose to? Tulane and Ole Miss.

Do I care who considers whom "rivals"? No.

Kids today think it's all about Nick Saban. Wrong. It's about Alabama ruling the conference for so long.
