If your measuring qb effectiveness strictly by points scored you are correct.I'll leave you alone with your thoughts

You're the one that used the score at halftime to prove a point, not me.

There are only two teams that have finished 7th in the SEC West, Arkansas and Auburn. I don't see why the trend would change now.

Maybe... There are 7 teams in the west and pretty much everybody can make a case for winning the division...

somebody's gotta finish last... I think auburns a 10 win team, but we got questions just like everyone does.

So you're saying that Nick Marshall was the reason that Arkansas failed to score in the second half? That's the only argument that you could be making that makes sense with what you've posted so far.

That's what is great about being in the sec. Every week is exciting. Taken a look at Ohio st's schedule and tell me running he table wouldn't feel hollow after being in the sec

No. He had already committed the next few years to building a new "Boise State" type team.

Seriously though, I don't believe Gus ever wanted to coach at Arkansas anyway. He's ALL Auburn. And he's by far not a bad coach. But I don't think he's as great as some tend to believe either. I do believe he planned on returning to Auburn all along, even when he accepted the Arkansas State job. We'll never know but I think he wanted Gene Chizik to fail and I think that's one reason he left Auburn in the first place. It just happened sooner than he thought it would. JMHO.

I would love to know the details of what was going on behind the scenes at Auburn. Had the impression that after the NC, Chizik was getting even goofier by the minute so Gus bailed. Some of the power people, Bo, Sullivan, Dye and others, asked Gus, as he was walking out the door, if he would be interested in the position if it came open. Part of the reason I say this is because after he accepted the job he said that he wanted to come back to Auburn but just didn't expect it to be this soon.

Sounds good in my head

They could flop or win every game . Even if they flop they likely will finish ahead of Arkansas . With a passing QB it will be very interesting to see how things work out.

I think that was pretty close to the reality. Chizik changed a lot after 2010 and I think Gus left partially for that reason and so he could cut his teeth as a head coach. I don't think anybody expected the disaster that was 2012 or that Chizik would be fired so soon though.

Were they waiting on Bielema to tell them 'NO'?

Yes, and he did.

Gus was never in the running for the Arkansas job, no matter the phone calls he was making to people in Springdale, Bentonville, Fayetteville, and Ft Smith begging for an interview with Long.

Simply amazing!

The only "flop" I've seen is the pigs. And my God what a flop. The only SEC wins in two years was against two handicapped teams. One handicapped from injuries (Ole Miss), and one seriously lacking in experience (LSU). And this is the sum total of this fat arse, out of touch, buffoons achievements. Now if this bucket head coach and Arkansas were in the Mountain West Conference or perhaps Conference USA, the pigs would be simply awesome, but in the SEC West........ he sucks..... bad.

He can't recruit and he's lost.... six? assistant coaches with the last walking out of contract negotiations for the same position in a different conference. Wow!
He brings in a new OC who was on the verge of being fired, from wherever it was, who knows nothing about, nor has any contacts with, the southeast and you expect him to do wonders. Can't wait! Your recruiting will continue to suck.

Your only hope is "Gus will be going to the pros" and "Muschamp is going to take another head coaching job". Good luck with that!

Oh.... good job Pam.... I mean Ham

Arkansas points against Auburn since motorcycle Bob left:

24
17
21

Gus is averaging 40 points per game against fat Bert.

Pigs beat preseason chests.
Auburn 40.
Fat Bert 21.
Pigs cry.

Wash rinse repeat.

SO he and Bert will have the same record?

I bet Arky sure is glad they passed up a chance to win the SEC.

Boy, y'all's insecurity is really showing...

Ark will be the biggest flop in the SEC this year. They were essentially the same team at the end of the year as the one that AU beat by 21 points to start the season. They are getting the hype for beating an LSU team that was reeling, an Ole Miss team that was limping and the worse TX Bowl team in their history. They will have a hard time playing ball control with the rest of the SEC West this year.
