I don't respect your team enough to spell the shorthand version of the name properly.

The way Bert and Co. won 7 games was worthy of a raise
Gus goes 4-4 = disappointment
Just goes to show you the difference in expectations between the two programs. Arkansas is happy to have a coach go 2-14 in conference.

No. He had already committed the next few years to building a new "Boise State" type team.
Seriously though, I don't believe Gus ever wanted to coach at Arkansas anyway. He's ALL Auburn. And he's by far not a bad coach. But I don't think he's as great as some tend to believe either. I do believe he planned on returning to Auburn all along, even when he accepted the Arkansas State job. We'll never know but I think he wanted Gene Chizik to fail and I think that's one reason he left Auburn in the first place. It just happened sooner than he thought it would. JMHO.

So you think it's a coincidence that Auburn hired Malzahn hours after Arkansas hired Bielema? Were they waiting on Bielema to tell them 'NO'?

As bad a job as you think Arkansas is, your team gets beat by Arkansas often. 14-10-1. Auburn does not scare the Hawgs, Barney Googles is your coach!

Jeff Long was very tight-lipped regarding his search for a coach. If Gus had been offered the job, he turned it down and decided on Auburn. Or perhaps Gus had interviewed with Arkansas and was waiting on an offer that never came. We'll probably never know. However, we do know that Coach Bielema had been at the top of Jeff Long's list for a long time. Anyway, Gus had just been hired at Arkansas State. At the time, he and everyone else expected Bobby Petrino would be at Arkansas for quite some time. Besides, had Gus wanted the Arkansas job at any opportune time in the near future, it would have made a lot better sense to pick another head coaching job besides the one at Arkansas State. And he had other offers.
Bobby's fiasco happened on April 1. IMO, Gus' sites were most likely set on Auburn all along and Jeff Long knew he wanted Coach Bielema shortly after the Petrino incident. Remember the letter Jeff Long received from Coach Bielema after the incident? But Jeff knew it would be much wiser to wait until Coach Bielema finished the 2012 season to make an offer since that would put him in a better position to seal the deal. And don't forget Coach Bielema was quite popular at Wisconsin and was probably waiting to see whether Barry Alvarez was going to accommodate his requests regarding assistant coaches.
The whole situation had a lot to do with timing. Hence...the interim hiring of John L. Smith even makes more sense under those circumstances. Anyway, this is all just speculation on my part as to how it all went down. And I'm glad we have Coach Bielema.

This is Auburn's year to flop
Will Muschamp is going to be the biggest factor for AU Much like Pruitt is for the Dawgs. They look like the scariest team in the West to me. No flop this year.
Have to agree with the dwag here, Muschamp is going to be huge for AU, with their ball control Off. (much like GT) all they really need is a Little Def. improvement per game to have a really good year. New QB is a ? Though.

Their qb did just fine against Arkansas last year.

He was impressive for a half sure, many forget the game was tied at the half. Nick Marshall made a huge difference in the 2nd half

Gus flopped last year. This year it will just become the norm.
Dude is the most overrated coach in football.

Auburn scored 3 more points w/ Marshall than they did w/ Johnson. Arkansas scored 21 less in the second half.
