This has been a once in a lifetime season as a football fan

I can't express to other fanbases how amazing this season has been as an Auburn fan. A NC trophy would have been icing on the cake, but as a football fan Auburn's team gave us two of the "once in a lifetime" type of endings that every one of us football fans always have hope in seeing your team pull off.

It has really made me rethink about what it is that I hope for as a fan. I used to think that winning it all was the end all be all of being a football fan, but I realize that it is not necessarily the case. My elation during the UGA and the IB overshadowed my reaction to winning it all in 2010 (and that was huge).

I really hope that other fanbases get to have even one of the experiences that we have had this year. It will make you realize why you love this game, your team and your school so much.

While I agree and all, winning the Natty is a little more than just "icing on the cake".

It's been my favorite AU season, by far. Can't wait to see how good we are when Gus gets some talent on that D, and Marshall learns to throw the ball. All-in-all, not mad.

Well, thankfully a losing season will only a once-in-a-lifetime thing for Florida.

This season has been like getting a really good blow job. Winning the Natty would have been the equivalent of the girl being a swallower, not just jerking you off at the end. Sure, not exactly what you wanted, but not that bad either.

I've got to admit, I didn't see it coming (especially after last year). I'm a little jelly.

Aubie is a lot like Geraldine Ferraro. No one really expected you to win, just getting there was quite the accomplishment.

Winning it all in 2010 was awesome, but shortly after that game I realized that I love college football for the whole season of games and not just the last one. Going to a game in person and enjoying tailgating and the sights and sounds of the whole experience is really what it's all about to me. I'm bummed about Auburn losing last night, but it was only a part of an amazing season.

Perhaps my favorite season, we'll see how it ages. 2010 was awesome, but not being able to listen to the radio because it was non-stop AU bashing took some of the fun out of it.

The way I see it, we got stuff AU really needs (11, 12 win seasons, SEC title, BCS berth) and got a couple legendary wins in the process. I'm not minimizing not winning the natty, but it was a really fun year.

Happy for ya'll flyAU.

Ya'll will be right back in the mix next year, as will Bama, A&M, USC and possibly us, Mizzou and Ole Miss. Can't count out UF and UGA either.

The end of the Iron Bowl gave me a warm feeling in the groinal area. What an incredible ending to a game.

If they had won it last night, it would have been my favorite because of the nature of the team and just the total lack of expectations. But, with the win I gotta go with 2010. It had a lot of the same vibe though with all the close calls. Plus the Rant melt regarding Cam.....bluetunafricktard, the hate was glorious.

As to the game last night, I was pretty nauseous about the loss and am still pretty sick today, but in the end, I feel the same. Tre Mason even said it in media interviews. We weren't supposed to be here till next year. 3-9, to Natty game. shite, how can you hate on that? We aren't entitled Bama fans.

I must say, the AU folks are taking this loss much better than the LSU folks took theirs in '11.
