This Bama team is a great road team.

I heard that this year's Alabama team plays better on the road because our defense calls more audibles than the offense. On the road, the defense can communicate much better with less crowd noise while on the field.

While at the game Saturday night at Bryant Denny, I noticed Ragland scrambling hectically many times to get the calls in to the linemen.

Don't be surprised if Bama covers the spread easily on Saturday.

I agree that it seems that Coker plays better on the road than at home, thus far, its the exact opposite of Blake Sims. Still a lot of football left to be played though.

This is a common theme among defenses. I've heard a number of times how it's hard to get calls made at home due to the crowd noise.

Flawless logic. I'm sure in the 10 years Saban has been your coach they have never used defensive audibles before this year.

They've only played two road games. Maybe wait until late November for these kinds of claims.

No, you're not covering the spread easily. This is a different team, with a sober quarterback. the offense will feel the hate of 100K angry fans yelling at them with the fury of 1000 suns. You will not cover the spread at all.

And I will also note that one bad performance against Ole Miss skews Alabama's home defensive stats. One bad home game doesn't mean the team is bad at home. It could have just been a bad matchup for those guys.

For a team who's defense does not suck, I think it's very good logic.

Did you really downvote me for presenting a plausible alternative explanation?

Bama gave up 341 passing yards to Ole Miss. I doubt that was because they had trouble hearing the signals. A more likely explanation is that Ole Miss' WRs were better than Alabama's DBs.

Ha! Dude, I thought your comment was great. I'm just now learning to navigate this board and was responding another post.

I thought the Bama D has played well all year, including the Ole Miss game.

Then we have a ghost downvoter who must be found and eliminated. Its an extremely urgent mission.

The ghost obviously didn't like my opening comment. Tough crowd!

Sure, it makes it harder to audible for the defense. Offensive audibles are much more important. One player can make a great play on defense and it turns into an 80 yd pick six the other way. Generally you need most of the offense operating as a unit to bust a big play.

Not considering that though, having 100,000 fans rooting against you and traveling somewhere you're not familiar with never makes it easier to win a big game

Is this the part where I throw your senseless comments back in your face? I'm new to this and unsure.
