These SEC schools, w/ the right Coach, have everything in place to win Natty

Florida
Georgia
Auburn
Alabama
LSU
Texas A&M
Tennessee (harder but possible)
Football culture, facilities, recruiting base, commitment to winning,Etc.
With the right coach, all could have dominant programs. Other teams may have most, but not all of the necessary elements and for them it is an uphill climb that would be almost impossible to overcome.Arkansas being much closer than Vandy, but still with significant obstacles. A coach looking at the above programs would justifiably conclude he has EVERYTHING in place needed to win.
Tell me the many ways in which I am full of shite.

To be the best, you have to beat the best, and there's only one team in the SEC that has done it the last two years, and they've done it not once but twice, but you left them off your list for some reason.
The East is 2-11 against the West this year, with one game to play. The East is down, so that "right coach" can probably turn around an East program more quickly.

If you include them you have to include Arkansas. One BCS bowl appearance same as Arkansas.

I agree in every possible way.

Why are BCS bowl appearances some magical standard? No one is pimping Boise State.

Tennessee is in a better position than Auburn

But all of Auburns champyunships/chamyunship appearances were a fluke?

Based on what?

I think a Coach would look at Arkansas a bit differently than the others. So no Arkansas. Close but no cigar, imho. Arkansas is at a recruiting disadvantage unlike the others, except Tennessee. And I give the nod to Tennessee just barely. But it's just my opinion so you are entitled to yours.

ARK recruiting base is tougher to define. I would put them just a small level lower them TAMU, but I dont think tamu has the current coach in place to take them where they want to go. ARK has the coach in place. Next year will define him as an SEC coach, but he will have to do it with a new QB

Location, better facilities, and we don't have another great instate SEC program to compete with for recruits.

the state of TENN does not produce year in and year out a lot of P5 recruits

I'm not talking coaches. I'm talking elements and decision-logic that would be attractive to said coach, fwiw.

Tennessee is the reason I think Arkansas could win with the right coach and players. They have nothing going for them above Arkansas geographically. Arkansas is probably better than them in those aspects. I've never see the facilties at UT but I would say they are just marginally better than Arkansas. UT is getting dangerously close to the realm of Arkansas basketball. We were once a top 10-15 program that is now fighting to stay in the top 25. Might never return to what they were and none of the recruits were born last time they won anything significant. I'm not saying we will but if you add UT and aTm then there's no way to leave out Ole Miss and Arkansas.

That is changing quickly. And again, what we produce we don't have to split with a program like bama

This. If LR and Pine Bluff would start cranking out talent like they used to, the gap would be greatly narrowed. But for numerous reasons, the football programs in both areas have gone to shite. On the upside, south Arkansas seems to finally be producing athletes on a regular basis. Still a lot of schools that don't offer football or it's not prioritized. Hell, I got a kid I see that's 6'7" 320 SOLID. Good BB player but not D1 level good, and has NEVER stepped foot on a football field. Goes to a small school with no football program. Has two uncles that played for the Hogs and is a Hog fan, but we'll never know what coulda been. We are trying to get him to walk on. Could be an absolute beast. Have seen others over the years that either didn't play or got overlooked by big schools. We have untapped talent in the state. Especially in the southern part and delta. How to tap into it is the question. Look at Warren and the insane number of D1 prospects they have produced. It's the culture there. Nothing special in the water or soil. They eat, live and shite football.

It is producing considerably more than it used to. Population booms in the mid-state and Knoxville. High school talent in the state of Tennessee is on steady incline.
Also, Tennessee has one of the largest recruiting budgets in the country, so the lack of instate talent isn't as big a hurdle as you think.

We can all agree that Tenn and Arky lack the inherent recruiting base. So maybe neither belong?
I thin Tenn does because they have history (historical and recent) on their side and they have a first class football CULTURE. Arky, just being fair, has neither to that extent.
