Sigh
I was one of the guys that got bashed because I tried to defend Miles. I don't, and never did, think Miles was the greatest coach in history. But the guy was winning, so if you're going to make a change, be sure you're trading up.
I'd have been happy with Jimbo, had we gotten him. Herman, he was a hot name, it'd have been nervous optimism.
Other choices- a clear upgrade was a guy already locked in; Saban at Bama, Meyer at Ohio St (and honestly Miles held his own against him).
I understood the "things gotta change" sentiment, but I was scared of the Tennessee/Nebraska consequences. People only thought things sucked, because they could still taste a little more.
Well, now we know what sucking feels like again. We deserve all the "told ya so" posts we get. And I say "we", because even though I'm hugely anti-O, I'm still LSU. Proud alum, loyalties will never die.

It was the opposite. Most fans melted when they announced O. Nice try though

For the first time in 5 years I'm not worried about Bama
Passing yards vs Bama: Over or under 250?
Spoiler - It was way under. 92 yards to be exact.
I'm glad to see old Willie Taylor keeps to the Tiger Rant these days. He was incorrigible last year.

Miles is was and always will be light years better than Orgeron. I understand why Miles had to go but to replace him with Orgeron was a pitiful and desperate attempt of a hire. Disaster.

Les Miles is no longer the coach at LSU. We won't see them run it down the throat of a nick saban defense. The transition from Les to Coach O has been ridiculously smooth. Everything is gelling and I expect LSU to glide to a 10-14 point victory

I will hate to see O go. I really look forward to his press conferences

Here's a few personal favorites of mine:
LSU Patrick

Really this whole thread is gold It gets pretty good after the 2nd page or so. There are some LSU fans that saw it coming though
Also, this. It was dismissed as "trolling"

He's got time to turn it around though...

You are on record for being a smart LSU fan. I know that there are others like you, but you just seemed to be in the vocal minority. At least to me.

There may have been some folks who saw that hire for the disaster that it was, but LSU fans are being completely disingenuous by suggesting that"everyone", or even "a lot" of people saw this as a disaster. I know because I personally argued with a great number of these people. Ban bets were made. But because I'm a decent enough guy, I haven't sought to hold the losers to account.
There's more than a couple people posting here today that should have self banned the moment LSU lost to Miss State.
Not surprised they ended up welching.

Hiring Orgeron was always a divisive decision. You are fake news.

LSU fans as a majority were very happy when Miles was hired
LSU fans as a majority were happy with O as an interim, as they should have been. He kept the ship from sinking
Lsu fans as a majority were furious when he was hired as head coach.
Anything else said is a lie

Total propaganda. Hell, there were LSU posters abound claiming LSU was going 15-0 this year.
Because, get this, they had the best coaching staff in the country.
Lol

Go bump threads from the rant. It was a majority hated hire.

When you can line up the replacement, and he's a better choice, go ahead and make it.
But my point then was, don't just throw a grenade into his office, without a plan. And by firing him midseason, without having anyone lined up beforehand, that's exactly what happened.
Miles, just my own opinion, would have won the games O did, and there's a good chance he beats Florida last season too. There were people thinking that last season, there were people saying "we have to fire him now, before he wins enough to become safe again. We have to do this NOW." So even the anti-Miles crowd expected him to win, they saw it as their opportunity.
Miles would have likely had this year's team 5-0, likely beats Fla and might beat Auburn, ... and loses to Alabama. They saw this as unacceptable.
Well, good for them, they no longer have to worry about late-season disappointments. No more failed expectations.
Instead, we're now hoping to not be embarrassed anytime we play a FBS team.
That's not the change I wanted.

All 23 of the dissatisfied LSU posters down voted me.
