They were 'back' after obliterating the likes of Mizzou, OM, Southern Miss, Arkansas, and aTm. The 'you scared' threads dominated these boards during the two week lead in to the Bama game.

I miss those guys.

I was always against this hire. I knew he was just using Miles blueprint for success and once he got his fingerprints on the program it would go to hell in a hand basket.

I wanted Miles fired but I never dreamed we would replace him with HC like O.

Wish I'd bookmarked some posts from back then. They were great.

The majority of the fan base was outraged at how the hire went down. I think we all tried to put on a brave face after out AD shite himself.

I made a thread here after the hire saying, for the record I am against the hire.

It usually is an "I told you so" for opposing fans when a team has a bad season and vice versa when they have a good season. But this season is almost verbatim for the threads created this past summer by non LSU fans. Not enough depth, Key not back/full form, guice packing it in, O deer in headlights, Eting not good, etc... and many LSU fans clamored how all of this wasnt even remotely true.

There was a vocal minority of LSU fans here though that saw O as a failure before the season started though

I don't even think it was that complex. It was mostly lol you hired a shrimp boat captain.

And it was true

I think you are mistaking being pleased that Les Miles was fired and that "change" was finally happening with actual satisfaction/approval of CEO.

Ask and you shall receive.

Why Alabama fans are freaking out. By Willie Taylor

For the first time in 5 years I'm not worried about Bama

Passing yards vs Bama: Over or under 250?

Spoiler - It was way under. 92 yards to be exact.

I think it was mostly false bravado. I think deep down most LSU fans knew Coach O was a bad hire but you feel the need to sort of support the new guy and be optimistic until he proves otherwise (which he quickly did)

Was never happy about the hire. Admittedly after the coordinators were in place, I was willing to give him a shot at it.

He's now had that shot and failed miserably. He and Alleva need to be fired.

To be fair, LSU offense struggled against these teams under Miles. All O did was take what Miles was doing, and make a few adjustments.

A lot of us were not dissatisfied with O last year, but we were unhappy with the hire. Just about any other coach would have been a better hire, even a coordinator with no HC experience.

Nobody was saying any of that.

The "not enough depth" is a recent thing being put out to defend Os poor coaching.

Key not back/in shape is something nobody ever even thought about other than the random idiots who said he was sitting out for the draft.

No one thought Guice would be injured or mailing it in.

I'm sorry but the "Etling not good" crap has played out. It's simply just an untrue statement. He's not a great QB that can take the team on his shoulders and win the game (but then again there are probably only 2 teams in the SEC who actually have that kind of QB). But to say he's not good is just stupid. He is good enough to suffice on a team with a decent Oline. He's not going to stupidly turn the ball over often if at all.
