They consistently get credit for being some badass academic institution, and that's their pass for being shitty in football.

Vandy's product it puts into the workforce isn't what it used to be. It's not head and shoulders above everyone else, as you've all been lead to believe.

To keep this from being too tldr, let me just use the business school example.

$100,000 Vandy Avg Salary of Biz School grad
$84,000 UGA Avg Salary of Biz School grad

$48,000 Vandy biz school tuition
$13,000 UGA biz school tuition

So at Vandy, you pay an additional $140,000 over four years to gain a $16,000 pay increase.

Sounds like a bum deal.

Numbers from USNews and WR.

In summation, your football team sucks and will get skullfricked, and your school isn't that good.

No, shite for brains.

I'm telling you that we can shite talk them on this.

30 years ago, Vandy was a much better school than anyone in the SEC. They are still skating by on that legacy. But the other schools have just about caught up with them. The gap has been closed.

You only pay that amount if you're well-off, in which case the price tag isn't much of a concern.

Well if we are going to talk about exceptions and intangibles, then at UGA you'd actually go to school for free because of HOPE.

My point is even stronger when you start dissecting different considerations and variables.

Sounds like a pretty good investment after a few years.

Is it really free? I thought HOPE only applied to tuition?

Depends were you want to live. If you want to live outside of Georgia than a Vanderbilt degree is better to have to get your foot in the door. Show up in NYC with a Vandy MBA or UGA MBA and see who gets a better reception.

Not really, their top college involves educating educators. How many teachers do you know making bank?

Wish more colleges and universities in the USA made the College of Education their priority college.

Terrible troll, hook was way too shiny.

Meh. So it takes nine years to break even.

Meanwhile your diploma says Vanderbilt for the next 50-60 years.

In fixed assets like real estate that might be a good deal.

After the ten years it takes you to pay off that debt with your extra $16k per year, you are finally better off than that UGA grad.

However, by the time you are 10 years removed from school, your degree and where it's from means a whole lot less, and your advancement is based more upon your individual achievements.

Bum deal.

(48000-13000)*2 = $70000 Extra Cost

(100000-84000)=$16000 Extra Revenue per year

70000/16000 = 4.375 years after an MBA, UGA grad gets left in the dust

Gotcha, so run the undergrad cost.

Vandy $43,620
UGA $ 11,622

Pretty sure my point remains.

Don't even get me started on other fees.... Vandy's residence and other fees are triple what UGA's are.

Let's just keep it to tuition.

Go ahead and run those numbers for us. You are a Vandy grad, you are smart, you can do this.

Come on.. make me look dumb. I'm just a dumb UGA grad.. this is your chance to prove to everyone how much smarter you are...

Pussy.

Both schools are good, no need to get all PMS

As for VU cost, I know many who went with no dough, they really do have some good financial support for folks not born into money.
