The SEC East in the SEC Championship Game since 2010

We are witnessing a level of futility unseen in conference championship game history thus far this decade. So far, the SEC East is 0-7 in the championship game, and are losing the contest by an average of 24.7 points per game. The only team that came close to winning was Georgia in that epic 2012 contest against Alabama. The next closest after that was Florida in 2015 - a 14 point loss.
It seems like such a long time again since an SEC East team other than Florida won the contest. You have to go all the way back to 2005.

Alabama is the only good west team that can brag about owning the east. LSU and Auburn went .500 vs the east last year.

I think every fan base in the East has accepted 0-9 this year. There's not a team in the East that has the coaching staff to beat Saban.

reminds me of the Big 12 North from 2004-2008, though the SEC West is of course superior to that old Big 12 South. Average score was 47-10.
The North lost their last 7 championship games before the title game went away in 2011. Last win was the Darren Sproles game.

The SEC East had a six game winning streak in the SEC Championship Game from 1993-1998. The average margin of victory in those games was just over 12 points per game.
Then in the 2000s, the SEC Championship Game was dead even at a 5-5 split. Despite the series during the 2000s being evenly split, the games were usually not that competitive on the scoreboard. The average margin of victory in a SEC Championship Game during the 00s was close to 16 points per game.

Thread seems to be more about the SEC Championship game. Which Auburn has played very well in the past two times

We have plenty of room to talk.
56-17
59-42 with 545 rushing yards

On the flip side, you could argue we witnessed a level of success unseen in college football history when looking at the SECW's performance over the last decade. The top SECW team has been better than the rest of college football for most of those years, let alone another division.

Why is that a weird time frame?... If you are calling that a weird time frame then 2000-2009 is just as weird as 2010-present. Stop the butt hurt.

I don't see this changing anytime soon either.
My honest opinion is that Florida will can McElwain within 2 years. Florida just isn't replacing the talent that Muschamp was able to bring onto campus.
Florida has had 15 kids drafted the past two drafts. All were signed by Will Muschamp. A whopping 12 of those 15 kids have been on the defensive side of the ball. Now that Muschamp's defensive players are heading to the NFL, Florida is going to start dropping off.
So far, McElwain's best finish in the 247Sports recruiting rankings was #11. That was Muschamp's worst showing in the recruiting rankings. His 2012 class finished #4. His 2013 class finished #3. Mac hasn't come close to a class like that.
-------
At the same token, its only a matter of time before Tennessee gets tired of Butch Jones.
I just see more turmoil in the years ahead of the SEC East. I don't see it swinging back to even 50/50 anytime soon. The East may win one in the next few years, but I don't see them winning 50% of the time anytime soon.

Apologies to our West brethren that we screwed up our division's average margin of victory.
