We are a little over 1/2 way through conference season and 1 month away from the SEC Tournament. Let's take inventory on where everyone is from a Conference and National Tournament point of view.

CONFERENCE
If the season ended today the SECT would look like this.....
Game 1 : #12 Auburn vs #13 Mississippi State
Game 2 : #9 Arkansas vs #8 Vanderbilt
Game 3 : AU/MSU vs #5 Florida
Game 4 : #10 Alabama vs #7 Ole Miss
Game 5 : #11 Tennessee vs #6 Georgia
Game 6 : ARK/VU vs #1 LSU
Game 7 : AU/MSU/UF vs #4 Kentucky
Game 8 : BAMA/OM vs #2 South Carolina
Game 9 : UT/UGA vs #3 Texas A&M

Teams with chance to win Regular Season Championship (remaining games toughest to easiest)
1. LSU (8-2) : @ UK, @ USCe, vs A&M, vs UF, @ ARK, vs BAMA, @ UT, vs MIZ (prediction : 13-5)
2. South Carolina (7-3) : vs LSU, vs UK, vs UF, @ ARK, vs UGA, @ MSU, vs UT, @ MIZ (prediction : 13-5)
3. Texas A&M (7-3) : @ LSU, vs UK, @ BAMA, vs VAN, @ AUB, vs OM, vs MSU, @ MIZ (prediction : 12-6)
4. Kentucky (7-3) : @ USCe, @ A&M, @ UF, vs LSU, @ VAN, vs UGA, vs BAMA, vs UT (prediction : 11-7)
5. Florida (6-4) : @ LSU, @ USCe, UK, @ UGA, vs VAN, vs BAMA, vs OM, @ MIZ (prediction : 11-7)
6. Georgia (6-4) : @ USCe, @ UK, @ VAN, vs UF, vs BAMA, vs OM, @ AUB, @ MSU (prediction : 9-9)

South Carolina and Texas A&M have the easiest remaining schedules. LSU's is manageable. Kentucky has a meat grinder left. They still have to travel to South Carolina, Texas A&M, Florida AND Vanderbilt AND play LSU at home. Lawdy.

Who would have thought South Carolina would be in this position at this point in the season?

LSU has a gigantic week this week. Can't afford to go 0-2. 2-0 obviously would be great but need to at least split.

Hopefully Tim Quarterman isn't too hurt.

Our schedule is bad, so that win at A&M was huge. Wish we didn't drop the game at Georgia though. This week is huge. LSU and Kentucky.

If we can at least split this week, we will be in good shape going forward. We just can't go 0-2 and squander this chance.

What did SC fans expect for this season? They returned almost their whole team and added 2 good recruits.

Feels like one of those "fool me once" situations. I feel like I remember all of them thinking they'd have a chance to be a bubble team, but I don't think you can expect to go from .500 to 25-5 and competing for the SEC Championship. It just doesn't feel rational.

Good for them though, fun team to watch. Martin is great.

We won 17 games last year and didn't make the NIT. We expected to be better than that, with at least a NIT bid. Now we're in the running for the SEC and 1 game away from being in 1st place for the SEC. We're ranked and we are about 2-3 W's away from being a lock to get a NCAAt bid.

We are playing WAY above expectations right now.

We are set up well after this season as well. Getting very good play from freshmen like Silva, Gregory, and Dozier. We lose Carrera and Thornwell, but I feel better with the way those freshmen have performed.

ETA: was wrong about Thornwell. Thanks CIYE

We'll lose Carr3ra, Chat and Kacinas. Thornwell is a Jr and should be back for his Sr year.

Thanks for the correction. Didn't realize he was a junior. Feels like he's been here forever

Wasn't trying to come off dickish if that's the way it seemed lol.

They have been good this season and play tough will be a good game Wednesday. SC will be a tough out in whatever seed they get in the tourney.

He's started since day 1, so that's why. Usually we don't have guys have done that.
