Easily one of the most important events in the history of college football. Not so much the game as the selection of Alabama to play LSU in a rematch game. If not for that event, it's very likely we don't have a playoff right now.

As to the game itself, I think it became obvious who the best team that year was. Alabama's game plan was much the same as it was the first time around. LSU played a very similar game, too. The only difference? Alabama's kickers (Jeremy Shelley in particular) made their field goals the second time around.

I'm not saying Alabama wasn't the better team but I wouldn't call it "obvious".

Put it this way......if you watch 2 race cars driving around the track at Daytona and one is driven by Dale Earnhardt and the other is driven by Betty White, is it obvious which is the faster car?

A golden age on this forum. The cockiness of LSU fans going into that game was downright hilarious.

Crazy considering we had beaten Alabama in Tuscaloosa 2 months earlier and won the 2 previous National Championship games that had been played in the Superdome, huh?

Still jacking off to that game I see

Funny thing is LSU is still co champions

More importantly their win was more impressive because they accomplished their feat during the season and on your home field

Still melting to that game, I see.

It is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Alabama dominated the title game plain and simple. But the notion of "we just made our kicks this time" is flawed. You can send a kicker out to kick a fg from your own 6 yard line if you wish. Saban but that guy in some bad spots in the November game. Some of his misses were far from "in the leather" especially the one in overtime after McCarron took a sack on third down.

In the November game Foster missed two FGs of 50+ and had a 49 yard attempt blocked. In the BCS NC game he hit from 23, 34, 41, 35, and 44. I think Foster just wasn't that good.

Sorry, can't talk right now. There is another sport going on right now that LSU is good at.

I think LSU should be more like Bama and claim that championship

Funny thing is that LSU has more of a claim to that championship than Bama does on around 10 of their self claimed championships

So every time Ole Miss hangs 40+ points on Bama, it's obvious that your defense isn't vey good?

He missed a 44 yarder and made a 46 yarder in that game. His longest one was from 52, but that was the OT field goal you speak of that would have never happened had he made the 44 yarder in regulation.

I don't understand what that had to do with the game in January 2012.
