Say what you will about the old bowl system, but that would be a fun series of games.

The current system is great for the top 4 then it sucks. Lots of shitty games in the top grouping.

The Cotton Bowl would be locked into the Big 12 winner (Oklahoma).
I agree with the Rose and Sugar. With these more likely changes:
Orange Bowl - Clemson vs. Michigan State
Cotton Bowl - Oklahoma vs. Notre Dame
Fiesta Bowl would be something like Oregon vs. Baylor.
