I agree about Cam. This could have been so different if he didn't get booted off the team. I would go with Dan Mullen as the OC. The offense seem to fall off after he left.

Cam

Oh stfu, Cam was never going to MSU once a real program offered. He was being polite to his former coach by even considering MSU.

Even if he had signed to MSU it would have put ya'll on probation considering it was your boosters offering his dad money for Cam to play at your school. So you should feel lucky that Cam "got away"

Ryan Perrilloux

I would also add Cecil Collins. He would of been special, if he hadn't been a complete idiot.

Ah, I made the mistake of making this like my first or second post (way back when) and rains of poo descended upon me.

The list of coaches, in various sports, that Arkansas let get away is too depressing to go into detail. We've lost quite a few quality players that should have been locks but we managed to screw up. If you are a small state like Arkansas you need to lock up that home talent.

Any QB that didn't come to LSU

You forget we had Gary Crowton and OL coach Stud as OCs from 2007-2012. In that same time span, we didn't have a QB coach either.

TL;DR below.

On to the OP's question
Without a doubt, I'd say Ryan Perriloux. He was coached by Fisher for 2 years then he was a key cog in our title hunt of 2007. His backup numbers in 2007, 75 att 9.3 ypa 694 yards 8 TDs 2 ints 52 car 4.0 ypc 207 yards 2 TDs, incredible to say the least.

Put him in 2008 with 3 of our top 4 returning pass catchers, plus our 5 star WR who had 249 yards and 3 TDs as a freshman, and he would have put up heisman level numbers. We had the OL and run game, and while the defense was bad, the losses to UGA by 14 points and Bama by 6 in OT, was the direct cause of pick 6s and heavy int numbers. Lee turned the ball over 7 times in those two games and 3 of them went for pic 6s. Again against Ole Miss when he threw 2 pics and got hurt and Jefferson didn't fair much better throwing a TD and a pic.

Put Perriloux in, and Bama is a win, UGA is a win, Ole Miss is a toss up, and Arky is a win. Would have been no worse than 10-2 that year.

Coming back in 2009, he would have put another year between Lee and Jefferson getting on the field. I mean Jefferson put up 2300 total yards and 18 TDs in 12 games, and led LSU to a 9-3 campaign. What would a redshirt senior had done? We lost by 9 to Bama where Jefferson was 10/17 58.8%, 6.7 ypa 114 yards 1 TD, while Lee was 4/10 40% ,44 yards 4.4 ypa and 1 int. We lost by 10 to UF when Jefferson was 11/17 64.7%, 96 yards at 5.6 ypa and 1 int. We lost to Ole Miss by 2 points where Jefferson was 19/37 51.4%, 250 yards 6.8 ypa, 2 TDs and 1 int (50 yards came on a last second hail mary).

With Perriloux a seasoned vet, a better runner and passer than Jefferson, and again, 3 of our top 4 pass catchers and the 5 star #1 WR in the country, he would have lit it up! We should have been 12-0 with him at the helm.

Any LSU poster that doesn't say Saban is lying. Outside of a HC, answer is either Perrilloux or Mathieu.
