Thanks to a new safety policy crafted by the University Athletic Association and the University of Florida Police Department, Gator football fans will be sporting a new accessory come fall — a clear plastic bag.

The UAA announced Monday that all Gator football events in the upcoming 2016 season will be subject to the clear-bag policy, and spectators will no longer be able to bring in personal backpacks, purses or bags of any kind.

In addition, those attending games are no longer permitted to bring personal seatbacks inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and will need to rent them from the UAA’s Gator Seatbacks service instead.

So females can't bring purses...that won't last long.

Backpacks/bags I can understand but why purses?

Sounds like they want to nickel and dime people, also that sucks for opposing fans wanting to bring them into the stadium.

Renting seatbacks is lame. How the hell is that not going to cause problems in terms of getting seated before game time?

Same rule goes into effect for Auburn.

You can point to a gal and say, "Look at the bag guys, it's that time of the month!!!!!!!!"

Think of the laughs you will have.

Didn't UF stop their cheerleaders from doing some of the jumps and tosses that most cheerleaders do a few years ago?
