How can the media blast Auburn, the fans, Cam and Cecil over something as simple as pay for play allegations and in the same breath embrace a team like the Steelers who have known "dirty" players and a QB that has had 2 rape\sexual assault cases on their team.

I thought about this when I found myself rooting against Ben Rapelesberger this entire season and tonight. I see how other fans may perceive Auburn and Cam but think the disdain is a little over the top.

If I was an Auburn fan, I would give two shits about the perception of the national media. Dwell in the fact that the crystal ball resides on the plains.

There's a difference between cheating the sport and being a criminal. Sports fans get more upset about cheating the sport than legal problems.

Yeah you kind of got a point, but really in the south College Football is king. Cam was in the face of everybody all season, the announcers gushed over him. He ran over almost every team he played, and the whole season there was this controversey surrounding him and Auburn.

Oh and he smiled too much and made a dumb name for his juice.

Big Ben took a beating in the media. Vick took a beating. The media gets money off the story. Now the media can sell it as a feel good story and have more material. Those guys aren't good people. When you're good at sports, then people give you a pass in life. Kobe cheated on his wife and may have raped a girl. Kobe is worshipped.

Auburn supplied the media with a great story. They're moving on to new stories now.

Ohhh I didn't know Ben stepped up and confessed. Also I am still waiting Hines Ward and James Harrison to own up.

It's great to be an Auburn Tiger right now. Just look at the top threads on the SECr...most of them are about Auburn.

That is an interesting point. More people were upset about steroids corrupting the game of baseball than any illegal activities that went along with the story. Good post.

the fact is that pay to play is against the rules. The ncaa and sec went against common sense and looked the other way because their was too much money involved.

Barners will not accept that their team won the NC dirty until it is taken from them. Of course this is after there is no more money to be made by it.

James Harrison has been fined like half a million dollars for his "dirty" hits, so he hasn't exactly gone unpunished. Most people hate Rapelisberger and wouldn't feel bad if he got seriously injured.

Is it not all intertwined and connected? In the end cheating has entered the equation.
