The most memorable Iron Bowl moments and games of my lifetime

These are my most memorable moments. I tried to be objective. I was alive for Bo over the top, wrong way Bo, and the Kick, but too young for them to make an impact at the time, so I won't include them.
Pro-Alabama moments:
1. Upchurch go-ahead TD (2009) - gutsy third down play-action call. It set off a huge spontaneous celebration among my friends and family (complete with a Rammer Jammer cheer).
2. Dixieland Delight (2014) - amazing game with huge momentum swings. The song was played after Alabama had seized control, and the sound of thousands of fans singing "frick Auburn" in unison has stuck with me. Awesome moment.
3. Zow-to-McAddley (2001) - this 45-yard TD pass right before half propelled Bama to victory. One of the few times I remember an underdog Alabama upsetting a favored Auburn squad.
4. Kitchens-to-Riddle (1996) - Bama squeaked out the win in Gene's last Iron Bowl.
Pro-Auburn moments:
1. Kick Six - duh
2. The Fumble (1997) - an ill-advised pass by Alabama in the final minute led to a fumble and game-winning FG by Auburn.
3. Curtis Brown was in-bounds! (1995) - Alabama fell short, in part due to a controversial out-of-bounds call on a possible game-winning TD:
Memorable games without one moment that stands out:
Pro-Alabama:
1. 36-0 (2008) - first win in Tuscaloosa, lots of catharsis after 6 losses in a row
2. 28-17 (1999) - Shaun Alexander fueled the comeback for the Tide's first win in Jordan-Hare.
3. 42-14 (2011) - helped put to rest the memories of the Camback.
4. 49-0 (2012) - felt so damn good from beginning to end.
Pro-Auburn:
1. Camback (2010) - lots of big moments in this game. Alabama dominated for the first quarter-and-a-half, Auburn afterward. I don't know what Auburn fans consider to be the seminal moment, but for me it was either Ingram's fumble or McElroy's fumble.
2. First win in Jordan-Hare (1989) - catharsis of a different sort.
3. White boy runs wild (2002) - Tre Smith fills in and breaks 100 yards to lead Auburn to victory. Fran was halfway out of the door on his way to A&M.
4. Raise your hand if you sacked Brodie (2005) - 11 sacks, Chris Capps, Shula era personified.
5. The most miserable game every played (2000) - 9-0 Auburn in freezing rain. Dubose's last game.
I'm curious what Auburn fans consider their most joyous (and painful) Iron Bowl moments. I remember a controversial spot that went Alabama's way (denied Auburn a first down), but I don't remember the year.

The camback was definitely the worst loss to me. And it's not even close

My pro Bama first
1. 1985- van Tiffin kick. Greatest play in tide iron bowl history.
2. 1979- 80 yd drive late in the 4th with shealy taking it in.
3. 2009- just like 30 years earlier. Had to have it and upchurch got it done.
Ones I hate
1. 2013- nothing beats this.
2. 1972- No got dam way auburn wins this game. 16-3 mid 4th qtr and Auburn has like 4 first downs all day. Block TWO punts and run back both and we lose 17-16.
3. 1986- reverse to Tillman. Perfect end to a shity season. We're preseason number 2 and went 10-3. Perkins is called on the carpet and decides to resign.

1996 was my first Iron Bowl that I actually remember. Our old Legion Field season tickets were directly above the Visitor section in the end zone that Riddle scored.
It will always be my favorite.

Camback: Defining moment was Lutzie catching the TD pass to put us ahead.
I'm not old enough to appreciate the 89 game and the first trip to JHS. But, older Auburn people consider it the biggest.

94, 96, and 14 are my favorites. The 09 game is overrated in my opinion. Lackluster performance from Bama against an unranked Auburn team. I wasn't even excited when it was over, just relieved.

Do you know who called that play?

Homer Smith, Mal Moore ... or Bruce Arians ? Can't remember
But I'm thinking Mal Moore

Yep. I don't guess it set him back very far. Would have been a GREAT call had it worked.

I lived on El Dorado Drive in Huffman at the time. When Tiffin hit that, my little brother and I ran out of the house, all the way down across Springville Road into the shopping center parking lot yelling "Roll Tide" the whole way.
We may be slightly retarded but it was a fun memory.

My favorite IB is 2002, first away game I took my son to.
Van Tiffin is the worst. Broke my heart.

Fran threw the 2002 IB to soften the blow for when he bolted.

Good post
You know if you ask non Bama or non auburn fans bet most only recall the Auburn moments. Think because those have been more dramatic and allowed an auburn victory when it was not expected or pulled it out of the hat

94 was a great game. Bama won 21-14 to keep their title hopes alive and handed Auburn their first loss since the 92 season.
