Pretty cool.
It's easy to forget the "men behind the curtain" that make big programs run (from corporations, to football programs to the federal governments). These do-it-all guys, unsung heroes who never get their names in the paper are the grease that make the gears turn.

Thad Turnipseed. What a name.
11 years at Alabama, where he started as director of capital projects by designing and overseeing over $200 million in athletic projects. Some of these projects included both of the two endzone expansions and a $40 million in improvement to the Mal Moore football facility.
Hated to lose him.

Was one of of my best friends growing up. Great athlete and one of the most solid individuals I know. Walked on at Bama from Jeff Davis and played special teams for the '92 Champs. 2 hot sisters.
Great article. Thanks for sharing.

I met Thad a few times in college - he was roommates with one of my husband's pledge brothers.
I'm old too.

I think his daddy was George Wallace's right hand man for a while.
