Since 1990 we have had the following QBs start at least one game at Alabama:

Gary Hollingsworth (1990)
Danny Woodson (1991)
Jay Barker (1991-1994)
Brian Burgdorff (1993, 1995)
Freddie Kitchens (1995-1997)
John David Phillips (1998)
Andrew Zow (1998-2001)
Tyler Watts (1999-2002)
Brodie Croyle (2002-2005)
Brandon Avalos (2003)
Spencer Pennington (2003-2004)
Marc Guillon (2004)
John Parker Wilson (2006-2008)
Greg McElroy (2009-2010)
AJ McCarron (2011-2013)
Blake Sims (2014)

We haven't exactly been spoiled for choice.

Alabama can always point with pride to three all time NFL greats--Bart Starr, Joe Namath and Kenny Stabler.

Richard Todd was no slouch either. As late as 1991 I believe ESPN had a stat that said former Alabama QBs had thrown for more yards in the NFL then any other school in college football history.

The only thing that bammer has had that has been unmatched since 1987 is luck and probations.

Many teams have more wins, conference championships, undefeated seasons and even winning records head to head against bammer during this time. I believe even Louisiana Tech has a winning record against bammer since the late 1990's. lol

However, not many teams received the luck of Colt McCoys injury in 2009, the mulligan in 2011, or the Oregon choke on 2012.

Bammers probations since 1987 are also unmatched. I am pretty sure bammer is the only foitball program who has been on probation 3 times during this period

There is no way to know how many or if any of these people would have become successful NFL QBs had they gone to another school that demanded more of them. But it would be folly to assume it is exclusively the fault of the player.

We are operating on 3 facts

1. Alabama recruits a lot of really good players
2. Alabama converts a lot of these really good players into NFL players
3. None of these NFL players are QBs

I can go ahead and tell you that of the list I have presented, the only QBs that may have been successful elsewhere had they been given more control of the offense would have been Brodie Croyle, AJ McCarron, and perhaps Gary Hollingsworth as well as upperclassman Jay Barker.

Right up there with the Ohio St. choke of 2013 which led to Auburn gagging on it as well.

Yep, that's pretty embarrassing.

But, not as embarrassing as trailing Vandy 20-21-0 all-time.

What would your life be like if Bama stopped winning?

It would be the early 2000s, what's your point?

How many have more conference championships? Maybe Florida? We've got 7 since then.

This.

It is an impressive fact.
It would also be impressive for this to apply to any other prominent program...but I am too lazy to do the research today...

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

I have seen all of them play and know a thing or two about the subject. You can disagree if you want. It doesn't hurt my feelings.

I wonder if any national title winning team in the last 25 years has a less impressive list. Wow.
