On the upside we have more depth and talent than Ole Miss, on the downside it still might be too early for McElwain lbs system to be fully implemented.

Well rumors are that Grier got it yesterday and left practice. Maybe losing your starting qb this close to game time hurts. Not sure I would call that an excuse. More like a fact IMO.

I called this shite.

All of this shite talk all week, maybe not by you but by your fellow fanatics.

And your head coach saying we don't respect Florida...

And the rumblings about VH

Just built in excuses.

A couple of years ago the Gamecocks were decimated with the flu when they got to Florida the week after having gone to LSU.

Remember that game? We had three fumbles our first three possessions. The loss helped Mizzou backdoor their way to Atlanta.

Remember what Gator fans said about the Gamecocks having a flu bug sweeping through the team?

Ace Sander, Bruce Ellington and Demiere Byrd all three played with fever ... all three fumbled receiving kickoffs or punts.

Here was the I called it post:

quote:

I predict Florida fans and Jim mcelwain will have a plethora of excuses post game.
We were dehydrated.
Vernon Hargreaves is playing at 8%
We scheduled our flu shots the week of the game? And we're weak?
We game planned for lare my tunsil, him not being in threw off our defensive game plan.

( why the hell would you schedule flu shots during game week?) I always get sick right after the flu shot anyway. No way I would risk the whole team not to mention against a power opponent... New Mexico State maybe... #3 and conference game, dumb.

I've never had anything against Florida fans but this banter recently is a little much. Not even normal troll stuff. I hope we crush them.

This will be the last time I post in this thread because it seems like it's going irrational in a hurry.

First of all your post calling the excuses after we lose seems a little premature seeing as we haven't played the game yet. You are assuming we lose so in all actuality you haven't called shite. No offense.

Second not all Gator fans on planet earth are making excuses so try not to make such a sweeping statement.

Third I really don't understand how when people are discussing a game can't say that VHIII who has not been 100% can't state such without it being labeled an excuse. It's the truth. Does one of your best players not being 100% help? No, so what should be said about that? Just don't say anything? Or should we say, "Well VHIII is gimped up so we should be a better team now." Thats fricking stupid and not true.

And the players getting the flu especially Grier gives us no advantage either. So again, when discussing the game should we ignore it? Like it didn't happen? Or say it really helps? Again that makes no sense cause factually it is a disadvantage.

I say all this and completely understand Tunsil is out and ya'll have other players hurt. Factually that helps us and is a disadvantage to Ole Miss. I at least never said Ole Miss saying those things are excuses. Just facts about the matchup.

Maybe I don't understand where you are coming from but it seems like you are getting upset over nothing.

I have issue with the ridiculous Florida fans, which that category you do not fall Into.

I do have issue with the op making a thread about "the flu sucks"

It's letting the board know hey this is going down and its setting up excuses.
Obviously it won't benefit the gators to have a flu epidemic Break out amongst player.

But starting this thread only served one purpose.

I'm not starting a thread saying .. the NCAA sucks they arescrewing us over something extremely petty that should have been a lot less severe than comparable instances.
Or the fact that 2 of our DT are out for the season, two other starting o lineman aside from laremy are also out, or that a second round draft pick, Connor in the secondary, is out. That would be making excuses.

Are the situations tough luck for both sides .. Definitely.

But starting this thread to preemptively inform the rant of a teams shortcomings, after the amount of trash talking Florida fans have done, is comical.

My calling this may be premature you are correct there. As the game hasn't been played but the seeds of excuses are already being Planted with this thread.

But post game I imagine there will be more threads or comments like this one if the rebels are victorious. I hope Florida fans won't sink to that Bama level.

Refs
Fluke plays
We gave the ball away, your team didn't force the turnover.

We had huge issues for last years lsu, Arkansas, auburn, tcu games. But no excuses were made we accepted our berating without trying to explain it away.

The teams just have to man up and work with what you've got .

With that said may the best team win.

I dont know where your getting this, but the places I trust for UF news on things like this haven't heard anything about this.

As far as right now, this is a rumor and doesn't have much legs.

I for one take exception that excuses are being prepared, holy shite...we are going to kick your brains in.

Josh needs to learn that this isnt something we need on the rant...why post it? And he may be 19 yrs old...I dunno.

I havent seen any kind of news like this posted anywhere and I challenge Josh to show link.

It's been like two Gators..reel and atl. Rest of us have been pretty unbiased. Shoot I've picked Ole Miss in every thread to win.

VH3 has been hurt. He missed a game and came out last game. That's not an excuse that's called an injury. So stop with dumb nonsense.

Flu sucks...every had it? If 21 kids have the flu..that's not a good thing. I had it two weeks ago and had to pull over every other minute riding my motorcycle to puke because of the heat. So yea..playing football with the flu has to suck.

So sorry about this. I really don't like to see this happen to anyone's team. We all wait all year for some of these games. I would like to see both teams at their best.. Best wishes for a quick recovery.
