The Florida SEC storied (basketball) one of the best I've seen

That starting 5 really loved one another and they put it all on the line. For Noah to pass up being the number one pick showed true sacrifice. Brewer coming back after knowing his father was about o lose a leg and his family not having much was gut wrenching but showed the love he had for his teammates.

That was one of the best Basketball teams in NCAAB history. People on this site will pass that UF team up… but to win back to back NC in College basketball is incredible. To make it through that tourney twice and win it all shows that team had something very special.

That tourney run was so stressful to watch because anything less than repeating would've been a failure. I really hate the single elimination format in basketball.

Ha, we owned them in T-Town that first championship year. That second year in Gainesville we got up like 30-4 and blew it...that whole year was a dissapointment.

Since the UF repeat I don't think a defending champ has made it past the Sweet 16.

Those guys really loved playing together. They were all heart broken and crying like babies when they left as juniors.

I saw them yucking it up, having fun together before that season started and I just felt that they could do something special. They were not on anyone's radar. I think they were picked to be like 7th in the SEC that year. I was in the Bahamas playing blackjack where I had a nice run at the tables. I put $100 on them at 140 to 1 odds. I continued to win more at the tables and said to myself, "I should put more money on the Gator boys". I was about to go back in the sportsbook to lay another $200 when my wife saw me and said... "Let's go to the beach right now". I never made that other bet but the first bet = $14k. I ended up betting UF football that year and won big as well and took the basketball team for the repeat where they were 7 to 1 to repeat. That was a helluva run.

There hasnt been a team like that before or since...Noah, Brewer, Horford could have easily passed up their junior years and cashed in...but stayed to win another NC.

Its teams like them that make college sports special. For every bad story there are 10 other good stories of kids who make sacrifices and play as a team.

I remember when USC beat those Gator teams twice in the '05-'06 regular season, and then followed it up with an epic SEC Championship game that came to the final shot.

Had a lot of respect for those UF basketball squads, and they had some great games against Carolina.

Saw them in person when they came to AU the year after the first championship. First, they were the biggest team I had ever seen and the best shooting team I had ever seen. Donovan has never had issues getting his team's open shots and the starting 5 played so well together that they got an open shot everytime down. AU was on the bubble at the time and I remember thinking that we played really good on offense, which we did. We scored like 75 I think and UF scored 100.

It was an unbelievable team to follow. That press conference when they announced their intentions to go pro was hard to watch. Here was a team that had just won two national titles in tears because they realized they would never play together again. That type of team chemistry doesn't come around very often.

They came in together, and they were going out together.

Haven't seen the SEC storied yet, but I'm sure it is terrific. That was a great team.

I'd love to see that Florida team match up against the 94-95 Arkansas and 96-98 Kentucky teams who played for consecutive national championships, but couldn't repeat.

That was one of the most dominate basketball teams in a long time. It wasn't ever far for everyone else to play a team with that much talent that actually played as a team and had some experience . The one and done rule has killed college basket ball. If players had to stay 3 years college basketball would be a lot easier to watch .

They won their first title during my freshman year at UF. What an incredible team...gave me some awesome memories.
