What are folks thoughts on it?
It kinda looks like a Olympic torch when it is taken out of the case.

Crystal football is still given to the winner of the Coaches Poll. The BCS was linked to the coaches poll. The CFP has its own trophy. We gets both.

Its awful. Should've stuck with the Crystal Ball. That is what had become associated with college football.

The trophy doesn't look so bad.
It's the fact that fingerprints show up so easily on its base that makes it look so horrible.
I agree bring back the football.

At the end of the game, before the trophy presentation, a Dr. Pepper commercial was shown depicting Larry being asked if he ready to present the trophy - to which he replies "I'm going to present the trophy?" and then passes out. They then switched back to the field presentation.

It's very meh.
IMHO Its design tries too hard, as if some SCAD graduate set out to distance the new trophy from those previous. The artist probably scoffed at the crystal ball, which he or she considered trite and bombastic.

I don't mind it; however, I think they should award something that the winning team can only keep for that year, similar to the World Cup trophy or Stanley Cup.
