Helps get the best teams in the final game. Shows how flawed the old system was.

I don't think it was a guarantee, but it creates more possibility for others to make the final game.

When bowls like the Citrus and Peach become play-off games you'll start to see better competition from the teams in them.

I still think it was flawed. TCU deserved to be in. Ohio state proved they belonged..... Florida state was undefeated

One team was put in based on the conference success and how strong the conference was perceived to be. Not a troll attempt but the sec didn't deserve to put a team in this year

I hope they keep it at 4 teams rather than expand each time someone gets left out. It needs to be difficult to make it in, and there will be years when there aren't necessarily 6 or 8 teams worthy of making it

I don't know what you are rolling your eyes at. TCU resume was much more impressive than anyone else's.

Oregon deserved to be there, they put these teams in because of the draw they would bring, not mad at that but these were not the best 4 teams sorry

It wasn't just the perception of the conference strength. The conference won its OOC games at an impressive clip.

You can make bad arguments for TCU all day long (and they'll still be bad arguments), but the Big 12 is 1-4 in bowl games.

Oh TCU deserved to be there, no doubt. But there is no way you can argue Bama didn't earn their way into the playoff.

So Baylor and TCU deserved to be there? Or are we just power ranking teams based on eye tests?

The conference wasn't what I was making a case for. TCU was.

TCU had a better resume than the 3 teams other than FSU.

And before last night I would have said no way to Ohio state but that would have been the wrong answer. Knowing what we know now Alabama didn't deserve to be in the top 4

You've ventured into nonsense land.

If a team didn't deserve to be in the playoffs "knowing what we know now," it would be Florida State.

Alabama lost last night. But in no way did they look like a team who didn't belong in the playoff.

I have had arguments for TCU and Baylor but TCU body of work was more impressive. They lost to Baylor I get it but they also beat more ranked teams than Baylor. They lost by a fg on the road at Baylor, I would have gave TCU the edge.

The argument wasn't that Bama didn't earn their way there but that they are not one of the best 4 teams. And they aren't.

I thought Ohio State didn't deserve to be selected but they proved they are better than bama. The match ups should have been

FSU-Ohio state sugar bowl
Oregon-TCU rose bowl

Florida state won 29 straight games they ran into what I think will be the national champs and got the score ran up on them late. I believe Oregon will do this to Ohio state as well

But now you're arguing for a power ranking system for the bowls. In that case, put Arky in a New Year's Day bowl because they looked better at the end of the year.

I don't mean for it sound that way

TCU had been consistent all year. So had Fsu and Oregon.

Sure Fsu looked shaky but they won all their games until last night.

You say the same for Bama as you can about Florida state they were lucky to beat Arkansas and LSU if we are being honest. Not sure why everyone just assumed they were a top 4 team.

Maybe because the rankings had overly hyped most of the west teams this year. Ole miss Mississippi state LSU and texas a and m were overly hyped. Making Bama resume look inflated. Bama is a top 5 team but the number 1 team no. I think you will hear most Bama fans tell you they weren't that good this year.

The top 4 were wrong, but it was FSU that should have been left out, not Alabama.

Let's not lose focus with that abomination at quaterback that is "Sunshin" Bo Wallace. He single handidly lost that game for Ole Miss. Had TCU played Alabama in that game I think it could have gone either way. TCU wasn't that impressive, they were good, not great.

You might be the only one who said TCU was not that impressive.

Bo had been bad bo before but it was the ole miss defense that was their calling card all year.
