Thanks, SEC, for not having any superstars at QB this year

(only half joking here)
Alabama's strength is the defensive line. With a big question mark on our ability to score points quickly, we need to be able to use our advantage on the DL to the fullest while the new offensive players develop. Quarterbacks like Johnny Manziel and Cam Newton really neutralize a great DL. There are some teams with quality starting QB's this year, but I'm not sure anyone has a star back there with the supporting cast necessary. Tennessee might be a problem, but they're still Tennessee. auburn's HUNH is always a concern, but I don't see the dominance this year and until Boom's defense actually goes against competition, it's reasonable to remain skeptical there.
Should be an interesting year.

Dak is a good example of someone that can hurt Bama's D. I don't think MSU has the supporting cast this year. We'll see.

Johnson might end up being a better runner than you give him credit for. Hopefully we won't have to find out.

Didn't Bo fricking Wallace beat y'all. I see Johnson/Allen//Harris/theUGA QB beating y'all this year.

Saying that there are no superstar QB's with a supporting cast in the SEC this year does not mean I'm saying we'll win all our games. I'm just saying that the strength of Alabama this year would be neutralized by a great QB. For example, Wisconsin may well beat us, but the fact that they have little threat in the passing game, and their style will allow us to substitute frequently and fully utilize our DL strength and depth is a big plus for us.

I wonder what John Parker Wilson is doing this exact moment...

Might ought to wait until a ball has been kicked before saying that there won't be any really god QB's.
We won't know until some games are played. Wouldn't discount some of these young guys.

We don't know this yet.
Exhibit A is actually found in your post:

Quarterbacks like Johnny Manziel and Cam Newton
These guys weren't superstars coming into their respective starting year either. We didn't know either would blow up and be superstar players.
