What do they do with mascots, once they are gone? Bury them.. Entomb them?
Taxidermy?
Cremation?
When our favorite dog passed a few years back, RIP Jonesy.. He was an awesome shepherd. We considered sending him to a science department at the university to reveal what had happened, and to keep other animals from suffering like Jonesy did.
We decided to cremate in stead. Jonesy's ashes are in my shop by the beer fridge..
and you are absolutely correct, Majestic Animals, RESPECT!

Missing Roscoe already- An incredibly special animal, those of us who had the pleasure of spending time with him.

So incredibly sorry to hear about Mike's passing. While I know it means he is no longer suffering, I also know that a great number of people are now mourning the loss of such an amazingly majestic animal...and I am one of them.
My heart is heavy for the LSU nation. I am sure that the rest of your SEC brethren also mourn the loss of what I consider a family member within the brotherhood of SEC teams.
Geaux rest easy, Mike. You will never be forgotten.

Reveille's are buried at the North end of Kyle Field. At one time that area was open and they could see the scoreboard. When they enclosed the stadium they installed an electronic scoreboard to the wall so they can keep up with the game.
SEC schools need more live mascot's and less guy's dressed up in costumes. SEC rules do not allow live animal mascots in basketball games. Not good.

That's actually pretty cool!

Wells 500ld tiger in an enclosed space might not be a good thing if he got loose.

rumor is that mike II is buried under an oak tree off river road
[quote]Legend has it that less than a month after his arrival at LSU, Mike II died of pneumonia at only eight months of age during a six-game losing streak. Reportedly, Mike II was then secretly buried under a willow tree along the Mississippi River. To explain Mike's absence, a statement was issued in the LSU Daily Reveille on October 23 saying that Mike was having trouble adjusting to his enclosure and was therefore being kept inside until he becomes more accustomed to the excitement of being a mascot. Several pieces of evidence support the legend that the original Mike II died and was replaced by another young tiger. Nevertheless, all rumors of the death and replacement of Mike II were denied. The official story was that Mike II had finally adjusted to life as a mascot and that he was in great health.
