Texas A&M fans, what gives?

Why is your school so afraid of playing a Texas team in a bowl game. You talk your way out of playing Texas three years ago, and then beg to not play Texas Tech. Why are you doing everything possible to avoid playing a home state school?

Longhorns will just have to get by after this year on this little chuckle at A&Ms expense and the the thought that they ended the year with wins over two higher ranked teams than the Aggies will have.
Not much, and it's no fifth place in the SEC West like A&M achieved, but it's a start.

The Longhorns are a program that got turned down on a million dollar offer to the TCU OC that doesn't even call plays. They suck, their coach sucks, and he is coming back next year.
Any Longhorn still looking down on poor Aggies should check themselves into a mental hospital.

Why not have Aggys play Texas? I read that 3 teams with losing records are playing in bowls.

This has nothing to do with TAMU and Texas Tech and everything to do with the Bowls. You want at least 1 team to travel so they sell the local hotel rooms. TAMU in Houston means poor hotel room sales. Since Music City is 2 hours from the Line Beards and they are a cheap and thieving lot it is not like they will be buying hotel rooms in Nashville. They will come to the game and leave.
LSU to Texas Bowl means hotel rooms sold to SEC fans that would not have been purchased by local TAMU fans. TAMU fans in Nashville will buy hotel rooms that the Line Beards will not. Texas Monthly can pound sand for not bringing this up in their article.
If college football had a hateful hard on for Nashville they would have scheduled Raider Rash and Line Beards in a game together but the resulting fans would have made Nashville the next Sodom and Gomorrah.

Demographics for Dummies is your friend. Prob'ly as many El ESS EWE fans (not so sure about alums) in Metro Houston as there are aggy. And, since aggy travels so well, surely they'd come from far and near to stay in hotels, eat in restaurants and cheer with their boy cheerleaders. Wouldn't they?
Fact is....aggy is skeered to play TECH. The smarter one's remember how the Red Raiders owned 'em when we let 'em play in the Big XII. Can't say I blame 'em. No imagination Spav-tastic offense, and a defensive backfield full of lost children? Coach Kingsbury and Mahomes would hang 60 - 70 on 'em. Washington'd prob'ly rush for 175 - 200 yds.
The benefit to aggy leaving Texas and playin' in Tennessee? Helps raise the average IQ of our state.
