Hell, I am coming around to the idea of swapping places with the fricking longhorns. I will laugh my fricking arse off watching the SEC sink into the abyss of college football has-been history.

But who will beg LSU to be their rival all the time if the Little Brother Aggies leave?

Screw Texas.... I would rather have A&M. Texas is spoiled and its the their way or the highway mindset that have destroyed every conference they have ever belonged to. They are elitist pricks. I have to admit I like Austin though.

It's because we're so kind and respectful toward LSU, isn't it?

I know you're being sarcastic, but no, I don't let all the BS on message boards bother me. A lot of the same people who act like jackasses on the internet are the same ones who offer you a drink and food when you pass by their tailgate party.

I graduated from LSU in 1990 and I missed the annual LSU/Texas A&M game until y'all joined the SEC a few years ago.

I think the SEC (and specifically the SEC West) is better with A&M here and it's certainly more interesting for LSU fans.

That said, I still wish y'all would have brought UT or OU with you instead of Missou.

They are truly embarrassing the whole SEC along with Ole Miss right now.

They had the option. They turned the SEC down. I wish some people would get that through their heads- you weren't good enough for them not the other way around.

This. The SEC hadn't sniffed a national championship until aTm came over and started bringing home the crystal balls

Ah. That argument. Sips are masters at it.

Thing is, and I know it sounds like rationalizing, a fair comparison really should start from he early 70's. Scholarship limitations kept Texas from putting all the state's talent on the shelf and out of reach, and A&M was doubly handicapped by being all male and all military until the late 60's. We were probably about 1/4 the size of Texas, if that much, and big time players rarely wanted to put up with the Corps life.

For the last 40 or so years of the Texas rivalry, it was roughly even. I have not looked into the Arky numbers, but I expect we held our own.

When you consider that for the first 60-70 years of the rivalry, the dominant program in the dominant state (for football talent) was basically playing a Texas version of The Citadel, it's amazing we won as many games as we did.

Probably true, but Texas had no interest. Your alternative was Texas, A&M, OU, OSU and Tech in the Pac-10.

The SEC might not benefit as much from A&M in the current environment but the alternative was the PAC being the most expansive and covered conference in the country.

A&M is a better fit than Arky.
