Avery Johnson is responsible for the past cycle's recruiting class which was cited as the reason for not firing Kennedy.

I saw him in Dallas for years. I know what kind of coach he is. He is doing a nice job early on with Bama.

He's not Pop or Carlisle obviously, but he did take them to a Finals and won 67 games in one season.

You don't do that by being a bad coach.

Compared to Billy Kennedy, Avery Johnson is the combination of Red Auerbach and Phil Jackson.
