The mini-4 game stretch they have (Florida, @ UGA, @ A&M, Alabama) is rough, but really the whole first 7 games is no cakewalk.

Any concern that by the time Tennessee gets to Alabama they are going to be worn out?

vs Appalachian State (11-2)
vs Virginia Tech (N) (7-6)
vs Ohio University (8-5)
vs Florida (10-4)
@ Georgia (10-3)
@ Texas A&M (8-5)
vs Alabama (13-1)

If Tennessee finishes that stretch at 6-1 they are going to be in Atlanta playing for a spot in the playoff.

@ South Carolina
vs Tennessee Tech
vs Kentucky
vs Missouri
@ Vanderbilt

I don't think there's any chance we don't lose at least one.

You only lose 1 of those 7 games and you are coasting to a CFP elimination game in Atlanta in December IMHO.

I heard earlier today that Tennessee has the easiest November schedule of any Power 5 team.

Mine too, but until they prove otherwise, I won't pick Tennessee over UF or Bama. So, we're gonna lose 2 in that stretch. Still could get to Atlanta tho, even with 2 losses.

Tennessee's schedule has been like that for at least 2 decades. Every once in a while you guys have a cross-divisional game nestled in there (Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss), but generally the TSIO is the demarcation line between your tough stretch and the final coasting stretch.

1AA team, Kentucky, Vanderbilt.......

If Tennessee goes 5-2 in that stretch, wins out, wins the East and then beats top 3 Alabama/LSU in Atlanta I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility that they still make the playoff as a 11-2 SEC Champion with a win over a Top 5 Bama/LSU on their belt.

They may be tired after Florida and Georgia but A&M is one of the least physical teams in the conference. Nice cupcake to get back to 100% before bama

For purely rant enjoyment purposes, I would love to see them win the fist 7 then drop 4 of the last 5. Gloriousness.

IMO the two biggest games of the year are back to back. UF and @UGA. If we win both I think we take the East with no problem and go 11-1 with a chance at the playoffs. But I expect that we'll split. Losing both isn't likely (we're slightly better than both teams on paper) but a real possibility nonetheless.

(FWIW my prediction for the year has been the same for a while now. 10-2 with a SECCG loss.)

Lose a few of these

Win all of these.

Feel good in the off-season, get hyped by national and local media, come back saying they're ready to be national contenders, repeat.

Agree - that A&M has trap written all over it.

Tennessee loses to Georgia, goes in deflated...or...Tennessee enters undefeated, looking ahead to Alabama the next week.

A&M has athletes everywhere, disruptive defensive linemen, an experienced QB. That will be a tough trip during that stretch.
