Did Tennessee improve, or the SEC East implode?

They are improving. Still think Jones is a way better recruiter than he is a coach.

Little of column A, little of column B.

Little bit of both

How can they not improve with the recruiting Botch is doing. Eventually he will get to a point where recruiting alone will get it done. That being said I never see him winning the SEC Championship if he doesn't find true coaches as Coordinators.

I kind of agree with this. But who knows maybe a switch gets flipped next season. Would've preferred him get better OC/DC but we'll see what we get next year.

I think a bit of both.
You can't really fault Tennessee for how shitty their division is. They would have lost more games a couple years ago, no matter how crappy the East was/is.
I mean, you play the hand you're dealt. After that if you win the division, even if shitty, you get one shot. Anything can happen in a game.
They let OU slip away with a W early on. I still think Butch needs a better QB for his system.

Honestly, I would get rid of Azzani and Martinez and keep everyone else.
And give Elder a HUGE raise.

We didn't think this would be the case, but for the most part, outside of his playmaking ability as a runner, he ended up being kind of a game manager at QB for us this year. With 2 very good RB's at his disposal, and injuries and inconsistency at WR, (not sold on our position coach there either) we relied quite largely on the run when possible. I don't know Dobbs' exact throwing stats, but I think he ended up with about 2200 passing yards, 15 TD's and 5 INT's (two of which were fluky deflections). When you rush for 230 and 2.5 TD per game, and when your awesome return game scores another .5 TD per game and consistently gives you great field position, you don't have to do much in the way of throwing. It's great to have a 1150 yard rusher and two more 600 yard rushers. For him to take the next step though, his accuracy needs to improve.

I need Butch's chart to figure out if they have improved or not.

What you need is to put down the Ben & Jerry's.

I really REALLY doubt he cares

Butch is a mediocre gameday coach but a really good recruiter. If they weren't winning the East this year, I'm not sure they will. Florida is only going to get better, and UGA and Mizzou are both making coaching changes to reinvigorate the program.
But if Butch can find a great QB he can pull it off. Dobbs is a good runner but is really inaccurate.

The 2016 team should be better than both 2015 and 2017. If we don't get big results next year, we likely never will with Butch as the helm.

We've got some really good QBs coming in, and a good one on the bench. I think Dobbs has to improve his accuracy, and I think he will.
