It's hilarious some here think BYU is some bad mid major program. They are as good as a mid-level power 5 team typically. They have a huge following and big stadium (over 63k). They have been to 12 straight bowl games and won the majority of them. Only 1 team in the past 2 years has managed to beat them by more than a TD. BYU tends to play a pretty good schedule too, not just like 9 or 10 mediocre to bad mid majors then 2 or 3 P5 teams like a lot of mid majors do. BYU is treated as playing another P5 conf team, they are in that league easily.
