People need to chill out on their performance. They clearly have been listening to their own hype and Jones isn't good enough to keep them motivated and grounded. I still think they have a good year overall. My 3 takeaways from last night:

*Dobbs isn't a QB, he is an ATH playing the position. At this stage of his career, he is an average QB and will be just that.

* The OL struggled mightily, but this is experienced base. The unit will gel as the season progresses and continue to improve.

* The defense is talented, but overrated as a unit.
They aren't getting the best of their players on that side of the ball. Maybe this improves, maybe it doesn't.

Agreed. They aren't as bad as they looked last night.

They are soft up front on the LOS right now and Dobbs is a below average passer. But we knew that already.

So basically, their offense is overrated, their OL sucks balls, and their defense is overrated...but you deduce from this that they will have a 9-10 win season? Got it.

These two don't seem to mesh unless the SEC East sucks.

I mean sure, but that's only because they play in a weak arse division.

The OL will continue to improve and get better as the year progresses. The defense should improve as a unit. This was one game, the units will continue to develop/improve as the season goes on.

That exact same offensive line beat the shite out of your defense last year. That exact same Dobbs lit your defense the frick up.

Agree except defense.

Defense is pretty good at every position except DT. Need Tuttle back badly.

Tuttle wasn't out there, JRM wasn't out there for 50 minutes and Barnett and Vereen played very well. Secondary wasn't tested at all with App States offense.

DT is the only real concern on that side for me.

Congrats to them on the 9-10 win season. We wouldn't know what that is.

False to the first. True to the second but only on the ground. Lit the frick up is putting it lightly.

They look pretty much the same as last year. Good size but not good speed, below average passing attack, soft Oline, decent defense.
Normally this would not be near enough but............

east is down

You are one of the better posters here, you are smart enough to realize 99% of the going overboard is a result of a long summer of Vols telling us they were a national title contender. They have such big mouths they have brought all of this upon themselves.
