Can we get some photos/stories? How was the view from the good/bad seats?

it will be interesting to hear what Tenn & VT fans thought about the experience
if we get good feedback; look for Bama or Aubie to schedule a game at Talladega in the not too distant future

Nope. Bristol is the only track you could do that due to the short track. Dega, Daytona, etc are waaaaay too big and long.

That's fricking horrible. I'd be angry if I paid for that view.

Yea frick that venue. I'm amazed at how some snake oil salesman managed to dupe the hapless Tennessee yokels into agreeing to this absolute embarrassment

We sat in the Allison grandstand on the backstretch, row 23. Not bad seats, but the atmosphere was pretty damn cool. I was hoping to see the Power T and Enter Sandman, but it never happened. Cool game, very patriotic

Hey Tennessee fans who were at the game, aren't VT fans just the absolute worst?

That's what she said.
But, yeah, seriously, Bristol's the only one that could pull it off and even that still looked like the views from the stands were... not so great.
The only other track that could possibly try and do it would be Martinsville. But with that being more of a paperclip than a bowl in shape, the views from the turns would be even further away/worse.

Some were good. Some were bad. The ones sitting next to me that left at halftime were bad.

Be honest, how was the view? How much was the ticket facevalue/paid?

View was bad, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Field action was visible and it when they were on the Tennessee side of the field you could watch the game unaided by the Jumbotron.
I'll be glad to be back in Neyland, but for one game it was pretty cool.

Was able to see the game fine from where we were. I learned that the wide camera angle shots and panoramic views (see mine below) were not representative of the venue in a football setting.
We were in the Tech section with clear view of two sides of the hanging jumbotron. Could see the action on the field fine. Most annoying fan was actually a fellow Vol fan who was clueless about College Football in general (One, he thought App State beat Michigan State. Two, he thought App State was still in the SoCon...that's just the tip).
Lots of opposing team fans. Including a fine representative of Bama's base.
Other notes:
College Gameday was fun. Some clever signs. First time I've ever heard Junior booed in Bristol.
The Bud Light and Budweiser fan zones were cool, as was areas for Kenny Chesney rum, Ole Smokey moonshine and Yee Haw brewing. We spent much of the second half on the Yee Haw porch which was nice.
The Hokies fans are delusional. They rattled keys the whole time and were almost unbearable after the first quarter. Seeing them hang their heads low and some visibly crying on their way through the parking lot last night was fun.
Lots of people passed out. A couple of sections were sold out of booze. I'd love to see those numbers, especially considering all of the tailgating.
Lastly, hats off to Bristol Motor Speedway. They ran a first class show. Lots of cool stuff. Loved the 9/11 tribute with Lee Greenwood and National Anthem. Just a cool thing.
As far as having another game there, I think this should be a once every five years thing. Both sides of Bristol in Virginia and Tennessee and the Tri-Cities did a good job for the fans... with the exception of the post game traffic, which harkened back to when the NASCAR events still sold out. It's like the campgrounds forgot what having full lots and crowds were like.
