Other than a W, what do you need to see in order to keep the hype train going?

Avoid injuries and we should dominate the LOS on both sides against a team of this caliber. I hope Dobbs has improved his deep ball. I honestly do not expect to see many big changes tonight unless necessary.

I am expecting a very good defensive performance and the elite special teams play from last year to carry over as well, specifically in the return game.
I really do not expect anything flashy on the offensive side of the ball, but I'm looking for an efficient and strong run game.
I do not expect much in the passing game this season, so anything we get there will only add to the hype from me.

Isn't App State big on cut blocking the LOS? I always hated playing teams that do that. Hope y'all get through this sans injury

They'll keep things relatively vanilla this week but I'd like to see some production in the passing game. Particularly, I'd like to see WRs Preston Williams or Josh Malone house a good deep ball. Ideally we'd see some production out of Jauan Jennings and newcomers Tyler Byrd, Brandon Johnson and Marquez Calloway.
Defense needs to show solid safety play. Todd Kelly Jr. has plenty of playing time under his belt and Micah Abernathy has some but those two positions are new in terms of starters. Nigel Warrior (true freshman) should get some snaps and he may wind up taking the starter spot from Abernathy at some point this season because he's simply that good.
OL has to improve in pass pro so I'd like to see that tonight as well. And of course, we all want to see some better consistency with Dobbs (if he improves there even just a little then look out).
