Tennessee fans, how do you feel about Dooley's away game record?

Away games
2-8(Memphis '10, Vanderbilt '10)

Away SEC games
1-8(Vanderbilt '10)

Games outside the state of Tennessee
1-8(NC State '12 Neutral Site)

I didn't know Dooley was that bad. Looks to me like CDD can't get a team to play in a hostile environment. I'd be really worried about those Cowbells getting to Bray's head if I were a Vol fan. How are y'all gonna stay confident about this game?

I'm sure they're ecstatic.

we hate it, and 90% of our fan base would be ecstatic if he were fired tomorrow.

some fans are confident, I'm not fwiw, because State has looked beatable against really bad competition.

Pretty sure most of them hate him and wish he would fall into a deep crevice

That wouldn't work, as the crevice is blocked by a hose.

NC State game was in the GA dome and UT hasn't beaten a top 20 team since 2007.

Don't forget that Dooley is 0-19 against ranked teams.

0-7 at La. Tech
0-12 at Tennessee

Dooley is all about big games and road games.

God forbid he beat #2 LSU, #8 Cal, #20 Hawaii(who went undefeated in the regular season, #17 Boise State, #5 Boise State, and #11 LSU with La Tech........

Edited, with a note that it was a Neutral Site game. Do you remember what % of fans were N.C. State/Tennessee?

Was it not outside the state of Tennessee?

Yeah but it wasn't a true road game.

Its still outside the state of Tennessee. The heading wasn't record in true road games, it was outside the state of Tennessee. If the heading said record in true road games 0-8 then that would be true.

I'll feel much better about it after Saturday.

BTW...what is Mullen's home win record against SEC teams that are above .500? That would be 1-8 (the lone home win was in '09 against Ole Miss). Does that mean that Mullen chokes at home against winning teams?

I think when beating Croom at home is the hallmark of your coach's success you know you're in trouble

It was, but a neutral site game is different than winning an away game. The environment of half the fans being Tennessee fans is far different than 95% of the fans being Mississippi State fans.

Nope...Georgia Dome was moved North for that game, then returned to Atlanta for the Auburn/Clemson fiasco the following day.
