They lost a lot of guys to the draft last year. But again, as long as they can sustain long drives and control ToP, I think they will be competitive in all games. Look at A&M and Tenn.

I am by no means an Arkansas fan, but I just do not think they are that bad. Do they have weaknesses? Yes. But they also have strengths they can use to mask those problems.

Toledo is actually a pretty good team this year. While Texas Tech is not, their ability to score quickly made for a bad matchup with Arkansas. A&M game showed they can compete.
As to why they beat Tenn, I have not watched the entirety of their games, but when I flip back and forth, the difference in the Tenn team between the first half and second of games has been startling, and not in a good way.

We should really be 4-1 right now. Tech just beat us straight up. However, Toledo was an absolute fluke with the 5 trips inside the red zone, four inside the 5 yard line, that yielded just 3 points. A&M was also a huge frick up. They had that game in the bag but it's almost like they think they aren't allowed to beat A&M with how they blew a late lead AGAIN against the Aggies.

We'll lose to Bama for sure but every other game on the schedule is winnable if they play like they have the last two weeks. The likelihood of that happening isn't high though and I imagine we'll finish up 4-8 or 5-7.

I actually agree with this. It looked like Arky was going to drive the field to kick a game winning field goal until your running back got hurt around midfield. I think Arky turned the ball over on one of the next two plays with him on the sideline.

Dude I watched the second half of that game and Arky fricking dominated them. Arky should have had 2-3 more td's or at least fg's, but they called retarded fake fg's and have a shitty kicker.

I agree. If we turn our season around people will say we let the Tech game go but I have to give them credit. They were the better team.

I found the problem in your argument.

I'm not sure what makes you think UT was the better team.

Points: 24-20
Yards: 494 to 365
yards per pass: 9.1 to 6.1
yards per rush: 5.5 to 4.0
first downs: 23-19

Arkansas won just about every statistical category, while playing in Knoxville. Seems to me that Arkansas just has the better team.

I think both coaches did such a great job in that game, both should be given contract extensions. I feel most of the other SEC schools would agree?

Everyone acts like Tennessee is the better team because of stars. But when you look at the players, who would you rather have?

Brandon Allen is better than Dobbs
AC and RWIII are both better than Hurd
Our O-line is better than theirs
Our D-line (outside of Barnett) is better than theirs
Secondary is probably a draw
Tenn probably has better LBs

We have far better coaches and player development as evidenced by the fact that a bunch of 3 and 4 stars beat their top-ranked recruiting classes on the road.

Best way to beat tenn is to give them a two touchdown lead.

Arkansas is very bad. I was amazed by how little talent they have defensively, especially in the back 7

Yeah we're starting a freshman at one of the LB spots and at one safety spot. Plus after our LB broke his leg we got even thinner there. I thought our CBs did a good job for the most part though. Jared Collins blanketed his man

We were in the redzone either 4 or 5 times in the first half. One TD, two FGs, one Fumble at the 5 and one doink off the goalpost from the kicker.

Then in the second half we abandoned the run for some reason after Arkansas tied it up (Hurd only had 4 carries in the 2nd half) and Arkansas started dominating the line of scrimmage against our D. We only had 4 offensive possession in the second half which hurt even worse when we stopped running it.

Hope that paints the terrible picture.

Arkansas has a good team.

Regardless of the good natured joking, they have a good team and you better respect them.

Arky vs Bama is strength vs, strength, but the Hogs are not going to Tuscaloosa to be beaten down like Georgia was.

We're on a similar trajectory as we were last season where we get quite a bit better throughout the season, just happen to be missing a shite ton of starters due to injuries. I think we wouldn't have started the season so slow/badly if the team was at full strength, although I'm still not sure we would've beaten TTech or A&M either way. Our LBs are a HUGE weakness on this team, with the "best" one being a true freshman and they got shredded during those games. AC also took until the last 2 games to get really going and Rawleigh Williams (another TF) is getting better and better every game.

While I completely agree that TN played a shitshow of a game, Arkansas still controlled the game from about mid 2nd quarter on. We're having to gameplan around basically not having a kicker and that really hurt us in this game on multiple levels. If we had a decent kicker that could get touchbacks it would've been even worse for TN score-wise.
Arkansas is not a bad team by any means, Toledo just came ready to play that day and we didn't whatsoever. It was the sloppiest game I've ever seen on our end, with 3 TDs and several big gains called back from penalties, defenders being out of position, and BA making several WTF plays.

The other 2 losses are understandable, we just couldn't stop their offense when it counted. But that Toledo loss is what's really giving this team a bad name, understandably so.

Our back 7 is a very young group, which is no surprise since Petrino's plan was to fill the spots with WRs who couldn't catch, apparently.

However, Arkansas's staff hasn't used youth as an excuse like some other staffs do.
