Yea, he is who he is. You might not like his overall views on things, you might think he's a goof, but he's clearly seriously the person he claims to be. And he just really, really loves making people happy and doing happy things.
He's a good person who cares about other people in a world where that is fleeting. Not sure how you can hate him.

I agree. The things people point to so they can justify their hate, such as the media circus he creates or his religion are all such petty things and honestly doesn't make sense as excuses to knock his character.
Meanwhile we celebrate athletes with far darker histories than people are willing to admit (example: Michael Jordan). And when you reference these things, everyone gets upset.

I may have been a little bit of a douche in my opinion of him back during his college days, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for him now. He does a lot of good and people continue to down him because he wears his religion on his sleeves and isn't afraid to talk about it.

I think you can make an argument that he certainly does not shy away from the spotlight that comes with being a "charitable" famous athlete, at all. You can also make the case that he can be pretty naïve and goofy about certain things (a very common homeschooled, preachers kid trait).
But do you really think he's secretly a guy doing all of these things solely for attention and to advance himself? Or that deep down he doesn't actually believe, act or live out the things he talks about?
Like, serious question, what is your impression of him? What do you think his true motives and thoughts are?

I've had the pleasure of being in his company a couple of times.
You are free to be wrong all day.

I posted this on the OT, and I will share it here as well:
He's a genuinely great person. His foundation sponsors "proms" for special needs individuals of all ages across the country. I have an immediate family member who had a developmental issue and is special needs, and she was able to attend one of these proms. It was really neat seeing her excitement about Tim Tebow hosting their event. He's the real deal.

Really? He lives his life after Jesus. People hated Jesus. As a Christian, I can tell you that there are people that are going to hate on you.

Some people just can't imagine that a person might actually (at least try to) be a decent individual. Mother Teresa could be playing SEC hoops, and some of these people would be wishing she gets caught up in some scandal. Pretty sad.

He's 5 or so years away from being elected Governor of Florida.
He doesn't bug like a lot of super religious celebrities because its genuine and not something he adopted so we buy that he's not beating his wife or getting caught with prostitutes and an 8-ball again.

Tim wouldn't hit him. However, the crying part...I'm sure that poster does it regularly when he's late getting dinner on the table for his Toddy.

Do whatever you want, Tim was basically Dan Mullen deciding to stay one extra season in Gainesville away from having hands down the greatest college career in the history of the sport.
Seriously, look at Addazio post-Florida and it becomes really fricking obvious why the 2009 offense wasn't as good beyond simply losing Harvin to the NFL.

That was great.
Helping people in need is one of the best things you can do for them, and yourself. More folks should try it.
Tebow has been rock solid in his beliefs for a long time.
