What kind of effect do you think the spread option and Tebow specifically had on the college game?

I am looking at cash money JFF and the fact that he was recruited as a safety but now is the best QB we've had in college since Timothy 3:16.

I like Tebow and I like watching JFF play, but 2010 Cam > both.

Okay, on that point, how did Tebow affect Cam?

Manziel had no problem skipping over Cam.

You mean Alex Smith, he was the first notable QB, then came the QBs from WVU/Oregon and the others running the similar systems.

Smith has made a career in the NFL as a starting QB, something neither in the OP will be able to achieve.

Florida would have covered up the stolen laptop incident if they hadn't had Tebow.

Come one, Florida has a clean program under Urban, no way would they cover up crimes or anything as it isn't the right thing to do according to the good book and Meyer is a reader of that book.

The spread option?

A lot

Tebow?

His greatest affect was making reporters all mushy inside.

While I agree in a way, Tebow and UF are worth mentioning because they were really the first major football school to make the switch and turn it into a national championship winning offense. When Meyer brought the offense to Florida everyone said it was a gimmick and you couldn't win championships in the SEC with that offense.

And I think Cam is one of the greatest, but it is tough to compare Tebow and Cam. They run similar offenses in completely different ways and there is something to the fact that for 4 years every one knew what Tebow was all about and he was still incredibly successful and should have won multiple Heismans.
